Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Cocktail Time

I have made I don’t know how many drinks or appetizers from Sandra’s book and they have all been great. My friend who is a gourmet cook would pick it up and go through it every time she came to my house. Eventually, she asked me to get her a copy for her birthday and I did.

Lost my original copy on a move and bought another one because this is just the best cocktail book I have ever seen! The pictures are gorgeous and the recipes are great!

After trying a few of Sandra Lee's drinks that she featured on her television show, I decided to purchase this book. So far, I have not been disappointed. I have made a few of her drinks, as well as two of the appetizers - and all were very good, and very simple to follow.

I love watching Aunt Sandy make cocktails. These seem like what she would be drinking; many of them are 2 or 3 types of hard liquor mixed together, perhaps with a splash of her favorite mango nectar or a splash of Sprite. They will knock you down unless you can drink like Sandy does, or modify the recipes to include more juice or soda. The photos are beautiful and color-coordinated, and the index by liquor is really helpful. You can say to yourself, "I just bought blue curacao, what can I make with it?" look in the index under blue curacao and have several ideas.

Love her quick and simple recipes that can throw a party together in a relatively short time

This book was well edited and put together with the common person in mind. She gives some great advice on how to build your bar with the basics first. I loved that. Also she gives the drinks with appetizers that are complimentary of the cocktail. She then organizes it by seasons. I truly love this book and will look to get more from her.

Other than the fact that Sandra Lee has great cocktail recipes, what could be better than to have them in one book? The book arrived on time but had a little bit of sticky stuff on the back where the seller had obviously removed the previous pricing label. While I don't care that they bought it for resale, I would have appreciated it being "cleaner". But when all was said and done, it was on time and was a new book. Just clean it up a little more!

Even if many of the drinks have ingredients I do not just happen to have on hand, I loved the photos and ideas. In fact, a friend who loves martini's looked at the book, started copying recipes, so I bought one for her to keep.
