tl;dr version:Cat acquired Psychogenic Alopecia after a big move and licked enormous patches of hair off of her legs, belly and back. Been taking one capsule a day for the past two weeks and she has stopped and hair is now growing back.Full Story:I am not going to lie... I did not expect very much at all from this stuff. We are a big family with several pets, which includes three cats (one male and two female). Furina is one of the female cats and has always been a bit "high strung" as compared to the other two. She has always seemed skittish, didn't like to cuddle very often (she would sleep in my daughter's room but next to her bed rather than on it) and generally appeared aloof and wanting to be left alone. The other two cats (one of which is from the same litter as Furina) are the complete opposite. We just chalked it up to it just being her personality.Now, several months ago our family took a cross-country road trip that ended with us moving into a brand new home in a brand new part of the country. Rather than being cooped up in a small place in the city, the animals had a huge yard to run around in, complete with a big wooded area in which to play and explore. Furina seemed to really enjoy it when we first got here, but once the weather started getting cold she stopped going outside (we lived in the desert and moved to the northeast). She seemed to be even harder to find around the house and when she did come out of hiding we noticed she had patches of hair missing from her legs. At first we thought it might be some kind of skin issue or parasite. None of our other animals had any issues and she got the all-clear from our vet. They diagnosed her with Psychogenic Alopecia (excessive grooming due to anxiety), saying that basically the only way for her to get better was to go on mood stabilizers.When I came across this product on Amazon after doing a little digging on the condition, I thought, for the price, it was worth a shot. I didn't really believe it was going to work but I figured I would at least try it before spending double on a prescription mood stabilizer that also may or may not even work for her. I liked that it seemed more natural and had decent reviews so I ordered it and let me tell you I could not be more pleased!I have literally been using this product for about two weeks (I only missed one day/dose due to a family emergency) and Furina's hair is not only growing back, but she has been coming around us more now. She sleeps on the bed with me and seeks out love and affection; something she never did before. The ONLY change in her life has been the addition of these supplements so I truly believe they work for her and they work VERY well! I only wish I had taken a picture of her before we started taking these because the difference in her coat is like night and day.I will gladly keep purchasing this product if it will continue to help Furina the way that it has. She really is like a whole new cat now and I am so grateful! If you have a cat that is either generally skittish or has Psychogenic Alopecia, then PLEASE give this product a try! I can't stress enough how skeptical I was of this product and how I am still in awe of how well it is working.

I took in a 10 year old bengal with anxiety and aggression issues due to a new pet in the owners home. It took a while to get him adjusted and calm. Finding the right dosage for him was a challenge. Calmkeen has helped tremendously. He requires it twice a day. What a relief to not have the spraying, vocalizing, and biting. I've been using it for 6 months.

Amazing. Absolutely love this product. We have been using Calmkeen the last 2 months and just repurchased this. Let me give you a little bit of background as to why we had to purchase this:One of our cats survived a flood and was surrendered by her owner back to organization that she was adopted from. We had adopted her brother at the same time that she had been adopted. The organization called us wanting to see if we would take her in so that she could be reunited with her brother (they hadn’t even been apart a year). We were hesitant to take on a third cat but decided why not. When we adopted her, she had suspected pancreatitis and the most awful smelling diarrhea. For several months, we struggled trying to find a diagnosis and she was on expensive prescription food to help the diarrhea. She was prescribed a probiotic and the diarrhea would come and go but would never actually go away.About 6 months into this, we were starting to go crazy because of the smell and obviously how uncomfortable she was to constantly be grooming due to the diarrhea. Our vet recommended a different type of probiotic but said if it didn’t work this time, she would need an intestinal biopsy soon. Before sending us on our way, she asked what her relationship was like with the other 2 cats. I told her she got along with her brother but not her sister. Our vet suggested we also try Zylkeen and see how that worked. We did.It has now been 3 months into Zylkeen for the first month and Calmkeen for the last 2. The changes have been incredible. The new probiotic helped initially but we have been able to wean her off the prescription food and the probiotic and her stools have remained solid. She seems happier, more relaxed, and is so so loving. It’s like she’s finally able to be who she is supposed to be.As someone with a background in counseling and psychology, it has absolutely blown me away that I wasn’t able to pick up on all of this being a behavioral issue. We spent thousands of dollars on trips to the vet and medications when that wasn’t even the issue. I am so incredible thankful to the creators of Calmkeen because at the cost of Zylkeen, we wouldn’t be able to afford to give this to her on a daily basis.I’m hopefully we will be able to wean her off of this and get her on a semi-regular dose but we will see. So far this is working. She has gone from being aggressive and frightful (she used to have to be handled by 3 different vet techs and muzzled at the vet) to being a social butterfly when we have guests and actually allowing us to pet her.One criticism I do have is that some of the pills in the last container I bought appeared to have opened in transit. It wasn’t many of them but I do hope our next shipment won’t have this issue. The pills are clear and smaller than Zylkene but not difficult to open. If you have arthritic hands, you may struggle to open it in comparison to Zylkene but scissors can get the job done. I just pour it over her wet food and she doesn’t seem to notice.Thank you Calmkeen!!

Works same as Zylkene. However, the capsule is smaller and flimsier than Zylkene, so if you have arthritis or limited hand mobility, it is a little harder to delicately untwist the capsule and pour out the product into the pet food to blend it in. The capsule tends to collapse and sometimes you have to work to shake out all the product. The capsule is clear so you can see whether it's empty so that helps. Minor annoyance compared to excellent price.

My cat was on Zylkene and it was working. I switched to this because it’s cheaper and “the same.” It’s most definitely not. Four days in, my cat is overgrooming again! Don’t waste your money.
