The Nurse Approves!
The Nurse Approves! I'm married to a wonderful woman who is also a nurse. She's used the same old stethoscope through her bachelor's degree and first couple years of work as an RN. Our kids recently busted the old one and it looks awfully sad. I surprised her with this 3M Littmann and man did I get brownie points! She is raving about how much clearer she can hear everything and how she loves it. Apparently not all stethoscopes are created equal. This one is getting a lot of love.Hope that helps.

Great product at a great price.
After 6 years it was time to replace my litman stethoscope. My previous litman was a great quality item so when it was finally time to replace it I knew that I would again be purchasing another litman. I. An head great with this even if I have to listen though a layer of clothes. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the market for a new stethescope. You will not be disappointed. My precious stethescope would have probabaly lasted longer if I didn't regularly leave it in my car overnight in freezing/really hot weather conditions.

Can’t go wrong with a littmann
Great product It is quality and durable good introductory stethoscope I ended up upgrading because I wanted something that had a greater ability to pick up certain sounds after a few years but there was no problem with the product.

Good breath and cardiac sounds.
Good purchase for me. I’m a retired Nurse practitioner, and friends are always asking me to listen to someone’s lungs or heart. Breath and heart sounds are very clear. Difference between rales, rhonchi and wheezes is clear...

Amazing Quality
This was my first ever Littman Stethoscope. Prior to this, I've contemplated many times on purchasing a Littman but thought it would be a waste of money. I had assumed that it made no real difference. Boy was I wrong! This was not only lightweight compared to what I previously had, but the quality was also amazing. The sounds heard were much clearer and louder than a generic stethoscope. I highly recommend this product.

Best Littman for EMS Use
Good quality scope for EMS use. As a 15 year professional paramedic, I've owned the Lightweight, the Classic II, and the Master Cardiology. The Classic II is by far the best of the three for EMS use. Sound quality is good for both high- and low-frequency. The MC picks up too much road noise in the patient compartment and the arms on the Lightweight bend too easily when stuffed in bags or pockets. Classic II is the way to go. I would definitely recommend this scope to EMS students, new EMTs and seasoned medics alike. Take care of it, and it wont let you down.

This is great but if you are a new student I would even recommend getting a better one by Littman.
I'm a first semester nursing student, so I was glad I spent extra to get this one as opposed to the cheaper ones. It makes a big difference when you are trying to learn the different heart and lung sounds to be able to hear well. In hindsight though I would have even bought one better than this one. So if you can afford one a step up I would get it. I'm wishing I had spent a bit more to be able to hear even better. It takes a while to be able to identify different sounds and the better your equipment the easier it will be.

To the Nursing Students Out There: Don't be cheap. Please Read. :)
I bought a stethoscope a few years back when I went to nursing school that was similar to Littmann Classic II SE. I didn't think at the time that there was any difference between stethoscopes and because I couldn't really afford the Littmann brand, I bought a cheaper, but similar product. I didn't know any better at the time.I wanted to buy a back-up stethoscope in case I lost the other one, and so I finally bought the Littmann Classic II SE. What I came to find out compared to my other stethoscope is the following: 1) The Littmann is way lighter being made of a lighter tube and lighter metal 2) The Littmann feels good around my neck and this becomes important when you work 12 hour shifts 3) I can actually fit the Littmann in my pocket because the tubing is softer so I actually don't have to put it around my neck as it curls easily into my scrub top front pocket 4) The soft ear pieces close out external sound way better with the Littmann and sound pick up is amazing. The funny thing is that some of my fellow nursing students--who had the Classic II SE--would sometimes borrow my stethoscope and would complain that they couldn't hear well with mine. Now I know what they were talking about. My only complaint about this product is the hard ear pieces actually hurt my ears when I put them in whereas on my other stethoscope, they felt ok (However, I only used the hard ear pieces on my other stethoscope because the soft ear pieces were not drowning out the external sound, thus making it difficult to hear). But that's ok because I love the soft ear pieces with the Littmann anyway.I know it is difficult for some nursing students to buy a more expensive stethoscope such as the Littmann brand, but now that I have one, I can't see myself going back to my old stethoscope or any other for that matter. You really get what you pay for with this product. Invest in your education and buy the superior product. :)
