Solid shampoo bar - Shikakai & mint - For normal-greasy and dandruff-prone hair - Indian Natural Hair Care - 2.12 oz

I found this product while searching for shampoo that would be gentle on my henna-dyed hair, and I am continuing to use it even though I am back to my natural color. I have fine, straight, frizz-prone, oily hair with a sensitive scalp, and this shampoo helps me keep my washing down to 3-4 times a week. I love being able to take this small shampoo bar with me in my carry-on without having to worry about liquid shampoo. I love how long it lasts - I have long hair (about 24 inches) and focus the shampoo mostly at my roots, and one bar lasts me about 6 months as long as I remember to store it where it can dry out between showers. I love the subtly minty smell. I plan to use this shampoo for many years to come.

Normally, I don't write reviews, but this is the BEST bar shampoo that I have EVER used. I bought 3 more bars of the mint variety after trying it!For the past few years, I've tried different bar shampoos that either left my hair greasy and thick with a waxy residue or dry and brittle and difficult to comb when wet. This one is so much better, because immediately I felt like there was no residue, and my hair was slick and combed out easily after a shower, and it dried shiny and super soft. There's no need to do an ACV rinse or anything. I just use the shampoo, nothing else. I find that it lathers up best after I've thoroughly soaked my hair with water, not when I use it too soon after jumping into the shower.It has Curly Girl approved ingredients too, if you know about that group for curly haired women. My hair is wavy/curly and prone to frizz, partly because we have hard water. With this shampoo, my hair dries a bit thicker, but I can easily comb my hair with my fingers to smooth it out again.Another perk to this shampoo is that it has a great shape to it--it fits in the palm of my hand, which makes it easy to handle in the shower. Over the summer, I used it at a public shower at the beach, and it was super fast and easy to wash my hair. It also lasts a long time. I'm thinking close to 3 months.My only complaint is that even though it is supposed to smell like mint, it doesn't really make my hair smell like anything but hair when it's dry. It doesn't bother me, though. Oh, and the ingredients on the box don't exactly match the ingredients in the Amazon listing, but there are still no harsh ingredients.

I waited a couple of months to post my review. I have a problem scalp. Since childhood, I have battled thick, waxy dandruff. I have used OTC and prescription shampoos and treatments. None did very much, and all of them led to severe itch.About 10 years ago I learned about sulfate allergy and began using sulfate-free shampoos. Strangely, the medicated shampoos made for dandruff pretty much all have sulfates, so I would need to rotate shampoos to control the dandruff and the itch. I tried so many shampoos, including one "formulated specifically for me." That one, and a few others, caused me to develop deep, encysted pimples on my scalp. My scalp is a mess.Enter this shampoo bar. I worried about my many problems, leading to me waiting so long to write a review. I can say this is the first shampoo that both controls my dandruff and my itch. My hair feels clean and my scalp is not miserable. I am extremely happy with the results.The bar works perfectly once you get used to rubbing it all over, close to the scalp. The lather is excellent and the scent mild and pleasant. I expect the bar to last many dozens of shampooings, and that is with very thick hair. On a normal head of hair, or thin hair, it would last even longer.I really have nothing negative to say about this product. I am thrilled to have found it and hope it never goes away.

I loved taking this shampoo bar with me on our camping vacation this summer and plan to ensure I have this in stock. It is convenient to travel with and there is no worries about shampoo spilling or all the waste we generate by buying so many travel-size shampoos. I do think this is an important product for sustainability! The only additional request is that it could come with a reusable tin. However, I easily fit this shampoo bar and half a bar of soap in a general soap carrier.

I like the smell and easy to lather up. I bought this hoping it would help with my dandruff but after 2-3 days, my scalp gets itchy and large flakes come out. I don't know if I just need to use it more often to keep it under control but I also don't want to overwash my hair that it gets too dry and I don't get large dandruff flakes all the time with other shampoos. I do have to use a separate conditioner b/c otherwise using the shampoo bar alone, it leaves my hair smelling good but stringy feeling if I don't use a conditioner. I tend to leave this shampoo bar upside down to dry, b/c leaving it flat makes it melt much faster.

I don't know what Shikakai is, but I love this shampoo bar! I decided to try this alternative to plastic bottles of shampoo and wasn't sure when I opened the box. It smelled great but felt "soapy," like it would leave a film on my hair. What a pleasant surprise! It smells GREAT (the mint is a nice waker-upper in the morning), sudses nicely, and rinses out completely. Put the bar into a covered container after you're done, and you're ready for your next shampoo! Now I just have to see if it lasts for the advertised number of shampoos - stay tuned for thrilling updates!

I truly love this great smelling shampoo bar. It is super foamy with fresh scent of mint and awesome lather. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning because I have a lot of hair and they are long. I have to say that I have no problem with this solid shampoo bar. My hair are soft and I don’t even have to wash them everyday like I used to. Also, my hair are not dry or matted and I don’t even have to use an apple cider vinegar rinse. This is a MUST HAVE for those who like natural hair products.
