Life saver!
This has worked out great! It seems to work better than the heating system in the house. The heating system rarely ever turns on! I live in North Dakota. It gets way below 0. This has been a life saver, while we are in the process of renovations in the dead of winter!

Don't waste your money!!!!!!
This is nothing more then a glorified over priced heater. The cooling part does not work. I don't care what they say. I have a temperature gun and it does not cool!!!!! Cool??? it's a damn fan... Nothing more... We put this unit in our bedroom to help cool the room down at night.... didn't work... so we tried this unit for 3 nights, just to make sure. Nope... it doesn't drop the temperature even 1 full degree in hours. Plus, if you put the fan over #7, you can't even hear yourself think, much less try and fall asleep. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Not sure where these others are saying that this thing is "great".... This thing doesn't even get up as far as "fair"... Sending this thing back today!!!!!

Noisy
Very noisy. Nice fan, but lowering the temp by 15 degrees may be a stretch. Hoping the heat function works better.

Energy Hog!
On the plus side, it arrived in less than a week, I like the units looks, it has at least 3 fan speeds (HH, HL and H6), it has a timer (it will run an hour for every time you push the button), you can change the temp target up and down from its default of 72 F on heat mode. I haven't tried cool mode but I don't think it is an air conditioner per say, just a fan, and not a very quiet or cheap to run one at that, so I probably won't use it in the summer. It comes with a remote control but at least for me, it doesn't work. I've tried turning the unit different directions and it doesn't work in any of them. Now for the negatives.I bought it to heat my family room, which is on a cement slab and always about 5 F colder than the rest of the house, which sits on a basement. The directions indicate it doesn't work well on a cement slab, and don't position it near a cool air return, which was the only place I had an available outlet, so I tried it there anyway. After 3 hrs of running it it only increased the room temp (based on a thermometer placed 5 ft away) by 1 degree (it is supposed to heat 1000 sq ft???). It actually felt colder in the room because of the fan blowing on me, and I had to turn the TV volume up to hear over the fan. So the directions were correct - it doesn't work well on a concrete slab or near a cold air return.I bought a heavy duty extension cord and the next night I placed the unit in the far side of the room off the floor as the directions recommended, and it did a better job of heating the room. Again, with the thermometer 5 ft away, it increased the room temperature from 62 F to 67 F in an hour, and then slowly up to 70 F in 4 hrs, with the unit set at 72 F (the directions recommend it be set 5 F higher than your central gas heating temp). Now, to my main complaint about the unit. The add indicates "it will save energy many ways and produces heat for much less energy than conventional heating sources and pay for itself quickly". The add also claims it only costs $10.48 / mo to run 12 hrs per day in cool mode. But according to the box, it uses 1.5 KW of electricity to run. Doing my own calculations, 1.5 KW x 12 hrs/d x 30 d/mo x 0.1367/KWH (my electric cost)= $73.83 per month to run. Adding that to what I pay now would TRIPLE my current electric bill, just to heat a small area in one room in my house, vs the current electric cost of all lights, appliances, central forced air heat, etc in my entire house! But maybe it would save on natural gas?I have an app on my phone that shows electric and gas use. On Thursday I didn't run this appliance and my electric use was 10.5 KWH. On Saturday, I ran the EdenPure for 4 hrs in the evening ( 5 pm - 9 pm) and used 17.5 KWH for the day. The outside temps were cold and similar, as was the wind. So the app indicated an extra 7 KWH (and gas use didn't drop). Using a calculation, like above, you would expect 1.5 KW x 4 hrs = 6 KWH, which is similar. Being home all day on the Saturday ( vs Thursday when my setback thermostat drops the temp in the morning) probably account for the other 1 kWh. At my energy cost, it would cost $1 to run it every 5 hrs. (the Friday in between was when I ran it counter to directions, near the cold air return, and energy use was similar to Saturday's). I have included pictures showing Thu and Sat electric energy use (w/o and with the EdenPURE heater on).I believe it would be much cheaper to just turn my forced air furnace up several degrees to heat my family room up than to use this expensive and somewhat noisy space heater. It will never "pay for itself". I'm very disappointed. It does have some positive attributes (see paragraph 1) and it might be OK in a small closed off room in a very large house so I didn't give it 1 star. I haven't tried it in cool mode yet.

Four Stars
I like the way this unit cools a small area and can't wait to try it for heating.

I purchased and have been using the heater for 2 months and couldn't be happier! It heats a room quickly and you can stand right next to it and not be overwhelmed by heat...The only thing I wish it had was a shutoff for when it reaches temperature but other than that no complaints!
