OMG - This has changed my life
A friend to whom I raved about Petadolex said I sounded like an infomercial. But seriously, after going 6 weeks without a migraine, this supplement has changed my life. No migraines means that I have more energy and more time to chase my kids and enjoy the world around me.I have suffered migraines for 20+ years and have tried OTC remedies, imitrex, Relpax, Maxalt, etc. Several doctors wanted to put me on Topamax (an anti-seizure medication) or a beta blocker, as I was prone to up to 3 migraines a week. One even suggested a hysterectomy (though I do know a couple of women that has helped)!Triggers were barometric pressure changes, certain foods, not enough water, too much sun, bright lights, stress, that time of the month, the list goes on. Symptoms included the aura and not being able to see, wanting to or throw up (or even actually throwing up), horrible head pain, etc and I basically couldn't function. OTC did not work, Imitrex knocked me out for several hours, and while Relpax and Maxalt worked within 20-30 minutes, I still couldn't do much during that time. I did not want to start an anti-seizure or beta blocker medication for other reasons. And I still wanted kids so a hysterectomy was out of the question.Enter one more doctor. This time, she suggested I try Petadolex (specifically this brand as they have run a clinical study and maintain strict production standards). So I read about it on WebMD and other online sources and decided to give it a shot.I went from up to 3 migraines a week to absolutely NO migraines in 6 weeks taking this supplement 1 pill, 3x/day (150mg when tested during a clinical trial was shown to be most effective) and I have only had one mild headache. My Maxalt is sitting lonely and unused right next to the oft used Petadolex.Simply put, I am in love and am thrilled to have found this supplement! Now at the 6 week mark, I can go down to 2 pills a day, so I am curious to see any changes. If I start experiencing migraines, then I will update this post and increase dosage. No news will be good news!!!!

It works so far
Day 5 and so far I have not had another migraine. I tried topamax, zonegran, and have been taking magnesium and B2 to try to prevent almost daily migraines. I also have a chiari malformation that causes thunderclap headaches as well as a dull ache at the back of my head. Even with the prescription medication I was getting migraines weekly. I researched Butterbur and came across studies that used Petadolex. I was worried about possible liver damage using Butterbur but the manufacturer has independent studies showing no detectable levels of P.A. My migraines seem to have a hormonal component so I will see if I stay migraine free as my hormones fluctuate with my cycle throughout the month. In addition to Petadolex I also take, magnesium, b2, primrose oil, omega 3, feverfew, and Co Q 10, all nutrients migraine suffers appear to have low levels of. Adding Petadolex has made the biggest difference so far and overnight in my case. The manufacturer does say it can take as little as 2 weeks or as long as 3 months to see results so I am excited and hopeful I will continue to see these results. I hope this can help anyone else suffering from migraines.

Very good migraine control !!
So far I'm seeing a slight reduction in the number of migraines. Been taking 100mg a day for about a month, will increase to 150mg next week. If I remember I'll update this with more info. The 150mg a day dosage is much better for controlling the migraines. I'll order the 75mg bottle next time and take them morning and night.

Weber has stopped production of Petadolex since 2009.
This supplement may or may not work. It is certainly very expensive as it appears the same formulation which can be had for less elsewhere. My issue is more about the origin and expiration date.I ordered this product in 2013 from this vendor and couldn't find any expiration date on the package. German company Weber and Weber has stopped making Petadolex in 2009 because it is no longer licensed due to unapproved changes in its the manufacturing process in Germany. I cannot verify WHO is manufacturing other brands of Petadolex (there are a few) and what their extraction process is. They usually want a subscription to their Petadolex.None of them responded to who their manufacturer is either. So be wary. I also could not verify what the difference is between Petadolex vs. regular Butterbur (PA free 7.5mg/15% petasin).I returned my order since I could not verify how old these capsules are and the vendor did not respond to this question. Initially Amazon only credited me for 1 bottle although my order clearly said 2 and I returned 2 unopened bottles. They eventually gave me a refund for the 2nd bottle as a "courtesy".

Migraines are decreasing by the weeks.
I was very skeptical that a herb that I could purchase over the counter would actually reduce my migraines, because I have tried many prescriptions for my migraines and most have not helped to reduce the frequency of migraines. I have been taking this Petadolex for about 3 weeks now, and I am already seeing a significant decrease in my migraines. And the best part is that this product says that it usually takes the product a couple of months to start noticing the results. So, I can't wait to see how much more it helps prevent migraines in the next few weeks. I have even stopped taking my prescription migraine preventative (it obviously wasn't working that well anyway or I would not have been still having bad migraines). I would like to add that I have been taking more than the recommended dosage. I have been taking 200 mgs a day instead of the recommended 150 mgs, which I know is not very safe but my migraines are so bad that I figured an extra herb pill a day could not be any worse than having to take more pain reliever.
