10-15-18 UPDATEOK so I used the jacket a few times while snorkeling in Hawaii. It worked great for the cooler water temps, mainly in the evening and at South Point off the Big Island where the temps were cooler. The jacket is very comfortable and easy to wear for long periods. But I do think one size smaller would have been better. It seems to stretch a bit easier when its wet and would tend to ride up my waist and lower torso a bit. It didnt come all the way up and expose my skin, but it did come up and let water in and was not as comfortable. Not sure if one size smaller would solve that though. I'm sure a smaller size would feel much tighter out of the water but then loosen up in the water. One lesson learned though - whatever one you buy, dont judge the size too strongly when the jacket is dry. In hindsight I would have gotten it wet in the tub or pool to check the size more accurately - but that is not always easy to do with a new purchase.I havent had a chance to use this in the water yet but I will update this next month once I do. But after buying 3 jackets to finally get the right fit I wanted to post my initial review on this.I ordered the XL in digital camo and it fits GREAT! I weigh 195# and am about 5'10", I wear pants with a 34-36 waist (depending on brand) and 32 inseam. I am not sure what my jacket size is, I think my sport coats suit jackets are mostly 42R but my size is probably closer to 44R nowadays and I am typically in between a L & XL shirt size. Most L shirts are tighter on the belly than I like, but some XL shirts are too big.But this jacket is PERFECT! It fits snugly and doesnt ride up when I move my arms over my head. Its not too tight to be uncomfortable, especially in the armpit areas, like some of the other brands. The bottom of the jacket comes down over my waist and sits just over my hips and slightly covers my belt line The sleeves are the perfect length, they cover my wrist and end neatly at the base of my palm - I swear it was tailor-made for me.It is so very comfortable and - just as important - it looks really cool!I dont know if I can say the other brand names here, but the others I bought were around the same price - $35-40. The first one was black with solid blue sleeves, I bought a 2XL and could barely zip it, the underarms were SO uncomfortable! The 2nd one had nearly an identical title as this one, but it had an option Lycra sleeves in some fancy 'ocean' pattern. I got size Xl on that one and the torso was loose in the chest and short at the waist - and the sleeves were nearly 2in too short.I definitely recommend this one!

I am 6’ 220 (plus or minus). Husky build. I venture between large and XL men’s shirts depending on the brand, but XL’s tend to be kinda loose. I ordered an XL, and it’s tight, but not uncomfortable or overstretched. I’d say it fits how it’s supposed to. It looks good and feels good. The con, the zipper is opposite of your standard men’s jacket, but that’s not new news if you’ve read any reviews. Seems to be a great quality shirt all in all. I will update if I have any quality issues.

Ordered (and consequently returned) two of these both in L and XL. The jacket seems well-made- quality material, very nice stitching, etc. However, neither fit as a wetsuit should (i.e. snug with no air pockets) - I'm 6' and about 180lbs with relatively athletic body and 32 waist and XL was overall too large. L, on the other hand, fit (almost) well in the shoulders and chest area, albeit a little too tight under the armpits, but was way too loose around the waist and belly creating lots of air pockets.I should've read other reviews stating the same problem before I even ordered. And unless you have a good size beer belly to fill all that space, it probably won't work for you.

I surf with it in New England and its great for the summer. Its held up incredibly well. The zipper doesn't damage the board and the seams are well made. This jacket is just as good as the name brand ones and half the cost. If you're the type that can't live without the Ripcurl logo on your shoulder while you're out there 1) ya crazy 2) nobody else cares what you got 3) don't waste you're cash when the quality and price point are better with this oneplus is water camo so you're basically invisible

I like it, I'm glad I ordered the extra large, Normally I order a large, but they seemed to be running smaller than they used to so I tried the extra large, fits perfect. It seems well made, the material is thin and flexible just right for fall weather when you don't really need a wetsuit. I look forward to trying it out on my surfboard.

Got this for my husband when he went on a whitewater kayaking trip. It fit well based on the listed measurements and it kept him warm and sun-burn free. He loved that the sleeves looked like his Navy uniform. Would definitely recommend.
