ORION SPORTS, a Minnesota company specializing in high quality canine products. We believe in safe and effective training for ours and your pets. ORION SPORTS Prong Dog Training Collar is safe, practical and easy to use. This training collar features high quality construction for natural and safe control. Mimicking a mother dog carrying the puppy around, dogs respond naturally to the even pressure on their neck to obey. BENEFITS: The evenly spaced prongs provide natural contact for optimal control. Enjoy your walks with an obedient dog. These collars have smooth, prongs allowing you to safely teach your pet obedience, to stay, heal, walk or jog next to you and for you to be in control. A few training sessions and you will have peace of mind with your dog. ORION SPORTS Prong Training Collars are fully adjustable. Simply remove or add links to achieve the proper size. For a non-tightening collar, connect both O-rings to the leash. CHOOSING THE CORRECT COLLAR SIZE is as simple as measuring the pets neck and allowing for short or long fur. When properly fitted, the collar should be placed high on the neck and not be too loose. You can remove links or add extra links to customize the collar fit to your pet’s needs. Our collars have polished tips for the utmost safety and comfort for your pet. Other brands cover up sharp prongs with rubber tips that may fall off. This collar is suitable for obedience, K9, puppy, and mature dog training. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Slide the last link prongs out of the double loops near leash attachment. Put the collar on your dog like a necklace and slide the prongs back into the double loops. You don't need to slide it over the muzzle or eyes. Orion Sports offers a variety of high-quality, specialty pet products. ORION SPORTS gear is well-made and backed by our warranty and guarantee. Happy training and walking/running!

Does the job
Have used this before when working with a young dog. Decided to get one for my 5 yr old Golden doodle. He's very friendly and exuberant and well behaved except when we go to familiar places and he is leashed. i.e. the vet. He's 75 lb. and I'm 71 years. Without this collar I just hang on for dear life as he bolts for the door just knowing everyone is going to be thrilled to see him and he doesn't want to keep them waiting. It adds composure to our arrival.

best collar for walking your pet
LOVE this collar. it does NOT hurt them despite the torturous look of it. they walk really nice with it. If they pull for choke mode, it does not injury them. they will stop pulling relatively quickly and stay calm. This is the second dog I have used it for. As they get older, and no longer really need the pinch side, you can just turn it inside out to use.

My dog was able to get out of this twice ...
My dog was able to get out of this twice. I ended up in a pond this morning trying to catch my dog. The other time he got out of it he killed 2 baby ducks. The first prong is too loose and of the dog moves a certain way it frees him. :(

It works and it's very good quality.
Works great, much more humane than a choke collar for someone who doesn't use a choke collar properly (like nearly everyone). It's so easy, a child could use it. You don't need to correct the dog because they pull once and then figure out that is NOT the thing to do. It's much easier than getting tired arms from wrestling a stubborn dog even if you do know how to use a choke chain properly. They get the message very quickly and give in. I don't know why people get down on these like they're some kind of torture device. Choking a dog while it's dragging you down the street is torture. Not to mention the number of dogs that end up in shelters with little cards that say "given up because owner didn't have time for training." I think a lot of people are ill-informed. It looks wicked, but it's not. Try it on your own arm first and you will see. It's not going to poke into their skin or anything. It's very well made.

Impossible release prong collar
This collar is so hard and stiff that it is impossible for me to squeeze the prongs together for release. In frustration, I handed it to my husband, who also struggled to get the collar off our Golden Retriever. The poor dog scratches like crazy when the collar is on. I regard it as unnecessarily harsh on the dog. This is by far the worst prong collar I have ever owned over the past 10 years.

Stong, works great!
I had trouble with the collar slipping apart at the anchor link when I received it. I contacted the company, they quickly sent a replacement. Went on our first walk tonight and it works like a charm on my 6 month old lab. Great product, even better customer service.

metal gauge is way too thin
this was a much lighter weight and smaller link than I am used to from the collars that I was buying at a retail store.
