Really, just saying "it's Delia Smith" should be sufficient information to recommend this. As Delia once said "we're not chefs, we're home cooks" so this is aimed at those of us who aspire to cook and serve wholesome, attractive, seasonal dishes that are not trying to earn Michelin stars, but to give us pride and pleasure in feeding our loved ones. I love the fact that Delia Smith has always been very keen on promoting food that is in season, and, while not being too evangelical about it, recognises that our climate, while giving us cause for complaint, does enable our farmers and growers to produce very good quality products. It's nicely presented, and provided you oven temperature is accurate, followingvthe recipes will give perfect results every single time. Suitable for those just starting out on the road to good cooking and for those who, like me, have been at it for a very long time.

Pre-used but in Great condition.The photographyalone made this purchase worthwhile, I glance through this book and it feels like summer within the sun drenched shots; beautifully taken.Very high quality.I like the look of a number of recipes, they appear straightforward.What I enjoy most is the format of the text and layout. The font is clear / on the larger side and well spaced out.A pleasure to read.The book also includes a conversion chart for UK and US at the front. Very convenient.A didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do. I also like that it’s a piece of the past and nostalgic.

Just right for summer recipes while on holiday at my place in France!Delias recipes are easy to follow and always turn out just like the pictures. Very tasty too.

Bought for mother-in-law who uses it most days.

Lovely glossy pictures and easy to read instructions for tasty meals. A bit disappointed the book was not the hardback edition but the price was right and the recipes are all the same as the harddback. Have added it to the bookshelf with all the other Delia books and will look forward to using it in the Summer.

Delia Smith's cookbooks are consistently mavelous. The only problem is that no one has translated the directions into American measurements, American names for ingredients. e.g. "eggplant" for "aubergine". Her recipes ALWAYS work and I wish, for all my friends on this side of the pond, that she were better known here. As I'm an American cook with a bunch of British friends, I've been able to use their knowledge for translation purposes, perhaps her publisher would do a small supplement with such information to go along with the books.

She said she will order a copy.I discovered Delia Smith form a PD James novel (British mystery writer). From reading about Delia on the Web it sounds like she is the Martha S. of the UK (but with more practical recipes).I will buy more Delia books

Used book in excellent condition and a valuable addition to the kitchen.

Very helpful as the author incorporates the foods of the season into her recipes. They are not time consuming and are easy to follow. Good luck trying to get a copy! They were obviously popular, so if you enjoy summer cooking but want time away from the kitchen for your garden and other activities buy this!
