Rebel Threads: Clothing of the Bad, Beautiful & Misunderstood

A squares review.
I heard the author talking about his book on the radio. I was intrigued and bought a copy. This is good. It gives some pertinent historical and social context to the youth cults (with the exception of wartime ‘Spivs’)whose clothing is featured in this book. The clothing is from the authors own collection and are photographed on plain, headless manikins. A wise idea in my opinion because this is serious stuff and who wore it is better left to our imagination. I’m old enough to remember many of the subcultures featured but was always on the outside of it all, as were most young people. I recommend this book.
