How much power does it use?

t will use 1760 watts of power while cooking. It does not use that all the time, after warm up and cooking starts, it will very. I made sure that I plugged it into a 20 amp receptacle. If you use the formula for that, 1760 watts divided by 120 volts equals almost 15 amps. So you will need a 20 amp receptacle and circuit breaker. This is a good product and well built. You probably can get by with a 15 amp receptacle because not all the functions to use it will require that much power, just check your plug receptacle while using it to see if it gets warm.

How long is the power cord and can I use an extension cord?

The power cord is about 3 feet long! You can use and extension cord. However, it needs to be an extension cord that is rated to withstand 1800 watts! I used a regular extension cord the first time and it about burned up at the outlet! When cooking on the grill it pulls close to 1700 watts! I bought an extension cord that is rated for 1850 watts and does not heat up at all, even when cooking over a long period. I got mine from Home Depot, but had to read the identification tags to ensure it was at least rated for 1800 watts! I love my ninja grill!

Can other pellets be used, or does it require Ninja pellets?

I've used my regular pellets as well as the supplied ninja pellets. There is absolutely no difference in smoke quality or longevity. Ninja pellets highly overpriced
