so soft and soothing
I’ve been using this for almost 3 years so it’s definitely time to write a review!I get really hot at night if I sleep with anything thick like a comforter. Just using bamboo coverlets has helped me with that issue but having such a thin covering left me feeling sort of exposed and very anxious. I’d toss and turn, then put a comforter on to address the anxiety, then would get too hot! So frustrating. This weighted blanket has been a game changer for me. Even though it’s weighted it’s still breathable and I’m able to stay cool. The weight is just so comforting, it really does feel like a big hug. Zero issues with anxiety or overheating since I bought this. It’s the absolute greatest. I even bring it with me sometimes when I’m traveling even though it’s heavy (obviously lol).I convinced my mom to buy one, even though she really doesn’t have the type of issues I’ve had sleeping. She loves it and gives it 5 stars too.The quality is also excellent. My dogs love my bed and sometimes dig on this blanket. It looks a little worn down in those areas (for obvious reasons) but overall still looks fantastic. No pilling at all.Buy this now and sleep better 😊

My favorite blanket ever
I bought this back in 2020 when I was having some anxiety (thanks, Covid). I can honestly tell you it's the best blanket I've ever owned. I'm around 120 pounds and got the 12 lb blanket. In the summer I use it alone and in the winter, I put another blanket over it for the warmth. It isn't heavy and doesn't make me feel trapped but it adds something....it makes me feel grounded and secure, if that makes sense. I tried another 15 pound blanket and woke up in the middle of the night feeling trapped. I immediately went back to this blanket. I tend to be a hot sleeper and I've never had a problem with this blanket making me hot. I really love it. In fact, I'm going to get in bed right now!

Worth the money
It takes some getting used to when handling it, but worth every penny. I could wish for some nicer colors/patterns (prefer jewel tones and saturated colors rather than the pastels and charcoaled colors on offer [which I know are the current season's offerings]) but I'll probably get another at some point.I really like that I got the bamboo fiber one as it feels really nice to the touch.

I Couldn't Weight To Go To Sleep
Said it was for a queen/king. This doesn't come close to covering a king bed. Thankfully my wife doesn't like it as much as I do because there's no way for us to share it in a king bed. Overall good blanket

Best sleep product I've ever bought.
Silky soft cover and perfect weight for drifting off to sleep. I was a very restless sleeper and this amazing blanket has me so soundly asleep I don't need to change positions. Does not create any additional heat that I can tell. Perfect for those who sleep better in cooler temps. If you're hesitating, don't. Worth every penny.

Good Breathability
Husband is the “hot” sleeper, so I mostly got it for him. He’s still warm, but he said he doesn’t wake up sweaty anymore. He thinks it actually does help him sleep better, less tossing and turning. The first night we used it he said it felt like a lightweight woman laying on top of him. 🤦🏼♀️A few small negatives: due to the glass beads it’s recommended you don’t wash the blanket regularly, as it could break your washing machine or dryer. I would definitely recommend getting the duvet cover, as that can be washed regularly. Also, because it’s weighted, if it hangs over the edge of your bed on any side too much, it will slide off onto the floor. I would say if it hangs down more than 4 or 5 inches, it’s gonna slowly creep off the bed while you’re sleeping.

I was skeptical, but i think there is something to weighted blankets!
I’ve struggled with insomnia for years and years, in part due to what i call “runaway brain” and the inability to fall asleep for over an hour or more. I thought it would get better with retirement but it didn’t. I’ve tried CBD, THC, antihistamine, melatonin, white noise, listening to podcasts with a pillow speaker, turning off blue screens by 8 pm, all to no avail. So while watching the morning news recently there was mention of the benefits of weighted blankets, which I had heard of before but considered them to be a gimmick. But this news report talked about the how they release serotonin levels. So I thought, what the hell, and went off and did some research online. I eventually choosing this YnM bamboo blanket after reading many reviews.Because I weigh 115 lbs I bought the 12 lb blanket. (The proper weight is 10% of your body weight). At first i thought it might be too heavy - it does take a bit of getting used to, and I probably would have done well with a 10 lb too, but it’s not enough for me to exchange it for the lighter blanket. I do feel that i am getting used to the weight after two weeks. What happened right away is that the first time i used it I fell asleep within 30 minutes. And even though i still had to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, i went right back to sleep. It was my first night of 8 hours of sleep in months and months! However, I didn’t credit the blanket just yet because it was particularly cold that evening and sleep is always better during winter weather. But second night, same thing. While I did get a little warmer in the middle of the night and threw it off, I later put it back on and slept until 8 am. Again, i had 8 hours of sleep, without runaway brain and also falling asleep faster. This is unprecedented for me.I’ve now been sleeping with this blanket for a couple of weeks and have decided there is indeed something to weighted blankets and better sleep. I am having vivid dreams that tells me i am getting deeper sleep. At times in the morning i don’t want to get out of bed because it feels so cozy. (I’m so glad I’m retired!)Observing my experience, my husband is now interested in getting one as he too suffers from insomnia, so we are going to get 20 lb twin size for him. That way i can get rid of the blanket under the quilt which I believe will help us from getting too warm.I do love the soft satiny feel of the fabric and the color gray that I ordered is a beautiful light gray. It was surprising how flat it lays when folded (see photo) as I was expecting it to be bulky. I may do an update here later and give the blanket 5 stars but it’s still a bit early and i want to see if it holds up and how it washes. I decided against buying the duvet cover as reviews show that it doesn’t fit that well. Also i want the blanket to look nice when folded and i don’t want to struggle every day getting it off and on.Edited to add on 7-11-20. I changed my review to five stars after sleeping with this blanket for months. It’s amazing. And is still like new. I am even using it in summertime and it does not make me hot (we do have air conditioning and cool air keeps the blanket fabric cool.) my husband loves his too. I’ve recommended this to many friends.

Well worth the money!
It works amazing! My girlfriend has PTSD and it's one of the best sleeps shes had in a year! Highly recommend it for anyone with any of the problems they listed, right from anxiety to depression to insomnia. It's worth the money, only thing I suggest is that if your have a more severe case of any of the things I mentioned then get a heavier blanket. Got a 15lbs for the 130lbs girlfriend she wants a 25lbs now.

worth a try
this product was recommended to me by a therapist to help with PTSD and Fibromyalgia. I honestly can't say it helped me sleep better or put my mind at ease. My sleeping pattern did not change much. It did help me fall asleep faster. As for the quality of sleep, not sure there was a benefit. I think this will affect everyone in a different way so I would not put much stock into the comments. I used it for over a year and have stopped using it. The blanket is quite soft and is very cool, temperature wise.

Disappointing. Don’t waste your money.
Such a small blanket. When you turn, the blanket doesn’t cover the other side of your body. I’m only 5’1”, but blanket is so short and barely covers my toes. Also, weight beads are unevenly distributed. Even with putting the blanket into a cover with all the corners and sides tied to the inside of the cover, the blanket still bunches up. It is also too heavy following their size guide. When I came across more web searches, this is meant for a child. But it doesn’t say that in the description.Overall, don’t waste your money on this! I’d rather spend more money for a quality weighted blanket.

The size is certainly not sufficient for 2 people
We wanted a weighted blanket for my husband, but he doesn't want to be hot. I have a weighted blanket (different kind) that helps keep me warm and he certainly didn't want that. We were skeptical if a weighted blanket could actually have any cooling properties, so this was a big expenditure for taking the risk. My husband loves this blanket, sleeps better, and doesn't feel hot.We bought the queen size for the length - he's 6'3". This blanket is certainly not big enough for a queen bed, or 2 people. I have my warm blanket on my side and he has his cool blanket on his side. This queen size ends up infringing on my side because it is bigger than half a bed. You end up with a very heavy mound of blanket in the middle of the bed. So if you want to snuggle, this is a problem.

$65 to Return - Not as "Cooling" as expected
So, this is an excellent blanket for winter, but either I sleep at the "nuclear furnace" level of heat, or it sort of over-states it's cooling capabilities.I certainly made the "weighted blanket rookie mistake" and purchased a king size blanket for a queen size bed. Under "normal" blankets, we find this is perfect for our bed size. With weighted blankets however, the excess over the edge has enough weight on it's own to slowly work the blanket off the bed (or at least down.) If you truly quit tossing and turning, it may not be an issue. Since we weren't cooled sufficiently, we kept rolling for the cold spot, and that was sufficient to work the blanket down.Ultimately we returned the blanket - costing us $65 CDN for the experiment - and went in a different direction (currently trying out an in-room air conditioner instead.)
