I'll admit I wasn't expecting much from this pump, but it does a fine job. It seems as fast as my much more expensive truck mounted high flow pump, but I can't verify because I don't have a flow meter on it. We use this to pump diesel fuel out of a storage tank on the job site. What I like about it is the portability and the ease of setup. You could easily switch from one tank to another without having to unscrew pipes and all of that.

Great pump but fuel filter wouldn't fit a 5 gallon can
I think this pump is going to work great for pumping diesel fuel from a 5 gallon plastic fuel can to my tractor. However, I do want to mention that the fuel filter WILL NOT FIT in a 5 gallon Briggs and Stratton diesel fuel can. I think I read on a review that it will fit a 5 gallon can - but, again, not in a Briggs and Stratton. I am going to have to find a smaller filter to fit on the intake fuel line. Otherwise, the pump and assembly seem well made and should work well. I plan to get a small 12V lawn tractor battery to use with the pump.

Pump is awesome.
Works great. We use it to pump old fryer oil out of fryers in our restaurant. If you’ve ever done this job you know it’s one of the messiest and time consuming jobs putting buckets or pots under the fryer and draining into those then carrying the buckets out to the oil recycle bin outside. Couldn’t bring myself to buy one of the $1,200+ electric pump units when you can make you own for a fraction of the cost. We got an old shopping cart and mounted the pump up the child seat area with some cable ties. Then put an old car battery in the cart under the seat area. The pump uses alligator clips to attach to battery. We also mounted a small motorcycle style trickle charger on the battery so when it’s not in use we plug in the charger and it’s always charged. Then we put two empty oil jugs (cubes) in the shopping cart and pump the used oil into those. Then wheels the whole thing outside and suction out of the cubes and shoot it into the oil bin. Easy. The only drawback is the rubber tube that comes with it is more of a starting point and should be customized based on what you want to do with it. We got a 36” piece of hard pvc pipe and attached it to the rubber hose for the suction side. Makes it easier with the long straight tube than fighting with the coiled up hose when trying to suction. It did however work fine for the pump side going to the handle. If you are suctionjng out of a drum, you def want a rigid pipe on the suction side. DO NOT use this pump for gasoline or highly flammable liquids. It does spark a little off the battery here and there and it would cause an explosion.

Pump and Hardware Great. Hose, not so much
We picked up a 275ga horizontal fuel tank for cheap; we needed something for off-road diesel since it's so much less expensive than the on-road stuff. We put the tank on a covered platform adjacent to a detached garage. Of course, we need to get the fuel out of the tank and into the tractor, too, so we picked up this little pump for the job.We installed the pump semi-permanently on the tank, using a rigid fuel dip-tube with the filter mounted at the bottom. The pump body is held in place with a couple of big magnets bolted to its frame. The 12v power is supplied from a battery we have hooked to a maintainer that also feeds a ceiling-beam mounted winch used for lifting and cleaning the tractor mower deck. The hose connection and fuel nozzle installation required a bit of assembly, but nothing difficult. Once complete we tested it out and everything worked as expected.BUT ...We tested it on a day that was warmer than average for December in Maine. Once we returned to typical temperatures, we discovered that the fuel hose became VERY stiff and difficult to maneuver as it doesn't come with a swivel connector for the nozzle. We replaced the hose with something that seems to be a bit more flexible in cold weather and added a swivel connector. The combination makes the solution work much better for us, and I would have certainly rated the kit at 5 stars if the hose was better quality. The linked pictures show the pump installation and the replacement hose, along with the swivel connector between it and the fuel nozzle.

It moves Diesel
I feel bad for those who reviewed and got a bad unit. Mine works great, install was easy, can't ask for much more. I was pretty liberal with the teflon tape though, the tolerance on the NPT fittings seemed a bit loose but no ill effects. Only complaint is that the bypass pressure seems a bit high when the valve is closed. Not sure how, it's just a little 12V pump.... but something to keep an eye on. I'm convinced the filter I installed inline happens to also be garbage but it did leak when the handle was shut. Installed a spin on filter in place and while it does work, I watch pretty carefully for leaks.Of note, the strainer is useless. It's so tall, you'll never get the last 1.5 inches of fuel in your tank. In some tanks, that's a fair bit of gas. I ditched the strainer and cut a couple notches in the pickup line to make a low profile pickup, and did an inline filter before the pump on the suction side and it works perfectly. The system has enough prime power to get the air out and fill the filter even though it's not on the pressure side. (yes, I have two filters. Overkill? probably, but the little pump can get the Diesel through both).

works great.made refueling easy
bought this a couple months ago to refuel Mahindra emax.really impressed with tractor except for couple of small things, one being you have to stuggle holding 5 gallon can above hood to refuel.not easy thing to do for anyone but even harder if you're a little on on the old side with messed up shoulders.this pump was a great solution to this problem.used about 10 times but so far works great.hope it &me keeps going strong for many years.thanks for what seems to be a great product.

A complete kit will certainly move your hydrocarbons
Great product, has completely done the job for me. Will fill a 5 gallon can in about 40 seconds. Needs to be permanently mounted and bonded. A rather complete kit.
