Classic Antique Mechanism #10P - 13.5" Hole to Hole

Product came on time & worked wonderfully. They need to work on packaging ... the cardboard box was a cheap one & the product was poking thru & could have been easily damaged. It was not the post office that caused the damage ... the box was so cheap lightweight any small jiggle would have caused an issue. Again the product is great!

I purchased a beautiful antique oak office chair for very cheap but the threads on the post were flattened and the bell was broken so it couldn’t be raised or lowered and was not repairable. The makers tag was ripped so I do not know if it is a genuine Gunlocke but it looks like it is. This is an excellent replacement, not as elegant as the original mechanism but sturdy and well made. The holes were very close but still didn’t align exactly so I had to drill new ones in the chair. I also had to bend the fastening tab on the bell slightly outwards to clear the bottom ring. A few minutes work and I now have a chair that will last another 60 years!I looked at two other sellers not on Amazon who charged much more for the mechanism and a lot more for shipping and their websites were difficult if not impossible to use. Very happy!

Bought this base to refinish a 1940s Bankers Chair my Grandpa and Dad used in their workshops. The original base broke years ago. It needed a clamp to keep from falling back. Now, it's like new. I would order from them again in a heartbeat!

This is pretty expensive, but it allowed us to restore what was worn out to a like new condition. This mechanism, new casters, and some refinishing made my old chair ready for another 50 years. It was just junk, but I price it online now for at least twice what the mechanism cost. Money aside, it feels great to restore a vintage piece, and this mechanism worked perfectly.

Amazon always delivers, I had searched for this part to save my favorite antique desk chair without success. This was almost the exact replacement for the hundred year old part that had worn out. I would highly recommend supplierment this supplier for this part and any other antique chair parts that you might need.
