Bravest Warriors Vol. 4: Volume 4
S**L
A surrealist masterpiece
I have never head of this series until I found a volume on the “new arrivals” page for my local library, a few weeks ago, but I gave it a try and found it to be superb. It was a bit reminiscent in tone to Squirrel Girl and the like from Marvel, in that it doesn’t quite take the world being portrayed as seriously as we do the real world and there are comments written at the bottom of the pages too, which you have to watch out for, as they are in blue ink, which for some technical reason, is really hard to see.It is ‘about’ four characters, who are teenage heroes of some sort in a futuristic world full of aliens and stuff, who appear to live in a huge invisible secret headquarters. Some of their activities bear a passing resemblance to those of the Teen Titans Go team, but as they all appear to be teenagers it is hardly surprising, since that is probably their target audience. The stories are real stories, in that there is a beginning and an end, but they are just incredibly amusing – and included in this volume is a sort of secret origin for each of the Fab Four.I can’t really explain; just read it (or go to your local library and read their copies).
