Planeta Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP from Sicily

I love Planeta. It has a clean, fresh flavor that is amazing on salads. I just toss mixed greens with a tablespoon and the juice of half a lemon, add a little garlic salt and pepper and whatever other veggies I feel like having. It's the only olive oil I have been using (aside from sautéeing) for over a year now. Great on bread and for grilling as well. I was very upset when the company where I always purchase it ran out, so great to see it here on Amazon at a fair price. I would have ordered the two-bottle pack, but since this is a one-person household, I was afriad it might not get used up while fresh. It's an excellent bargain.

Fresh, like you bit into an olive with a little kick or afterburn at the back of your throat- this tells you that the protective antioxidants like polyphenols, have not been destroyed by heat processing. Never use this to cook with- you have just defeated the purpose-and wasted your money- on high end, quality cold-processed Extra Virgin olive oils. Once you heat EVOO, you have destroyed all the natural antioxidants in it. Use cheaper oils to cook with instead. This is really great tasting Evoo.

Very expensive and very delicious.

Wow the taste of this oil is fantastic. Great taste in cooking, on steak while grilling, put it on the top of Italian bread when heating it up in the oven. Great taste.
