It is amazing what you can achieve with these little action cameras. I was a big fan of the Insta360 ONE R/RS range and used a BackBone conversion which allowed me to use vintage lenses to achieve an almost analogue cinematic look. When I bought an Ace Pro, I was blown away by the low-light footage I was getting, and used to soften my footage using a Black Mist filter on the camera and then reworking it in post to soften it even further.When I saw that the Ace Pro 2 could shoot in I-Log, I didn’t hesitate to buy one. Of course there were more upgrades such as adding timecode, additional sensors etc. but this was the upgrade that spoke to me. I do love to colour grade and being able to shoot in this flat profile allows me much more control in post-production than previous profiles.Last week I was shooting in London with my DSLR and had the Ace Pro 2 mounted on the cold shoe on top of my camera. Not only was I able to get some B-Roll of my actual shoot but it also captured some cracking stills, which I took using voice control.Of course, straight out of the box and using auto settings, the results are fantastic but push it a little further and this little camera punches way above its weight – highly, highly recommended!!

After a great experience using the Insta Ace Pro 1 on a skiing trip, I decided to upgrade to the Insta Ace Pro 2 for my action cam setup.Successors aren’t always guaranteed to be better, but in this case, Insta has put a lot of effort into refining the Ace Pro 2. The improvements are noticeable and make a real difference in performance.Here’s what stands out the most:Improved Microphone: The newly redesigned mic captures ambient sounds with much better clarity. While the changes may seem subtle, they become evident when playing back footage at higher volumes.Enhanced Low-Light Performance: I often ride in dim lighting conditions, and while the Ace Pro 1 already delivered good footage, the Ace Pro 2 performs exceptionally well in low-light settings, including dusk. This could be due to the built-in AI or upgraded software enhancements. Whatever the reason, I’ve never seen better night-time footage from an action cam.Leica Colour Profiles: The colour profiles are rich, vibrant, and high in contrast, significantly enhancing the quality of recordings.True Wide-Angle Lens: The wide-angle capabilities are outstanding, providing an expansive view that truly lives up to its name.For adrenaline junkies, the Insta Ace Pro 2 is arguably the best traditional action camera currently available. I received this a couple of weeks ago and have so far only used it on family filming which I can not post for privacy reasons. However I also have a compatible DJI Action camera which I am also testing. we have a flying school and I will be using both this camera and the DJI for action vids from the planes. I will there compare both and add the videos and my findings to both reviews. So for now I will just review this cameras ease of use and set up which I have to say is very straightforward and easy to do. The insta360 pro 2 is a great little action camera capable of 8k video at 30frames per second or 4k at 60fps it has a 1/1.3 sensor which produces extremely high quality video. Single action stills can be taken at 50mp which far bigger than the Mega Pixel count of my Cannon DSLR which is just mind blowing. It has a very effective stabilisation system that keeps your horizon level a removes all the bumps and shakes from your video making you look like professional video photographer. you will be amazed at the results you can produce. It has built in Ai editing helping you again to look like a pro. I really like the flip screen so that you can see from the front what the camera is capturing especially when using a selfie stick or similar.The active HDR and the low light capabilities of this camera will just astound you. the touch screen and the menu system is very simple to follow. I watch one of the hundreds of Youtube videos on tips and tricks with this camera and as I have already said using the tips and tricks this camera is going to make your video photography look like it was done by a professional. If you want to shot just actions shots for your own enjoyment or want it to promote you YouTube channel or business this is the perfect camera for the job. I bought the stand alone version but have since purchased additional batteries and charger I have also purchased a tripod and self stick. there are some great margins to be had by buying the bundles so if I was starting again I would go for one of the bundles for my needs. Oh I almost forgot to mention this camera uses Leica optics and if you dont know what that means google Leica optics they are legendary.. I will update this review with the video from the plane and my findings on the comparison between the two cameras. although having used both they are very similar so far and it will be a tough choice.... Item was great as expected. Also note that you should REMOVE the rubber lense protector to fit in the dive case. No info in manuals of thisAmazon however told me they would discount it to price match after I received it.
