WMF0652314500 Salt and Pepper Mills Set of 2 Wooden

Absolutely love these grinders.

I bought these becasue a friend had them and I thought the feel and the way they worked wss stellar.When they work, they just do their job right. Sadly, I'm not sure of the build qulaity. I didn't even get to grind any pepper or salt because as I was loading up the pepper, part of the top of the glass just fell apart. I sadly have to return the product and it IS NOT SOLD BY AMAZON. We'll see how the return goes. When I get these again, I'll rewrite my review as long as the glass doesn't break again.

Looks good and works well

I purchased a WMF mill after using a friend's and being impressed by how much volume it turns per twist. I used one for black peppercorn for 3 days and it stopped working. I opened it up and the interface that mates the ceramic grinding mechanism to the hexagonal shaft is made of plastic that split. Now it does not turn where there is any resistance from the peppercorn. I contacted WMF twice by email and received zero response. Good product, a design flaw that could be improved by using a more durable mechanism and horrible customer service. For the time being, I DIY'ed a shim to force the ring's contact with the mill's shaft and have it working again.

Grinder cracked within first 3-4 uses. Defective. Don't buy. Crack developed in plastic grinder housing. For grinding pepper and salt, should use metal. Plastic defective and cracked.

From a product like this for this price, I would expect it to last more than 18 months. A bit disappointing.A plastic part inside broke and made it useless.

The pepper mill worked well, but then the plastic in the grinding wheel broke, rendering it useless. And the salt grinder threads broke after filling it with wet salt and tightening it. This lead to me grinding glass pieces into my food, which I noticed only later. I love WMF and I would expect a bit better from them with this one.
