Pleasantly surprised
First, just to get it out of the way, the smell is disgusting, so open outside for sure. Now that the unpleasantries are out of the way, the good stuff: I ordered 100 of these thinking they'd be a centimeter each in size. That's not the case. They're actually closer to 1mm each, which suits my little setup much better. I have a small fountain (about 4 gallons) in which I intend to keep a few guppies to control the mosquito population out here this summer. However, it was difficult to find plants that are non-toxic for my dog and cat who like to drink from this free-flowing water source on hot days. So to control the nitrogen cycle, and keep everything in balance, I got these. Well, instead of 100 x 1cm duck weed, I got more like a few thousand 1mm plants. I have a hand full of the clay pellets used in aquaponic gardens floating in the top tier of the fountain, and the duck weed floating in the bottom. They're small enough that the pump has shot probably the initial 100 into the top tier which are currently floating among the clay pellets. There's enough in there for the tiny fish to nibble on while still maintaining enough floating on the surface to form a "hide." Very pleased with my purchase so far.

SCUDS AND SNAILS
The media could not be loaded. Now im not going to say it was the worst here. But what I will say is that the smell was so strong my cat got excited it was dinner time. Now I was filtering a tank and decided to do a poor job of rinsing these before placing them in. Most all were alive and I was very surprised and they seem to be blooming fast and healthy as well. Now it did leave me with mosquito larvae *so if you're buying make sure you have a "turkey baster" on hand* as well as a few snails. That was horrible to try and find and suction out all of the mosquito larvae with the type of substrate I use. The snails are fine, luckily all that got into the tank were 3 so happy bonus for me being honest. After around 3 days I started to notice a colorful film in the filter, but my the PH levels were fine so im not sure what that was about? I recently added some cherry and amano shrimp to the tank and they are very pleased with the duckweed. Overall it's alright for the convenience of having it shipped to your house. But be better then me and give it a thorough washing!Update: aquarium is overrun with scuds. It's a nightmare. Just took out all the duckweed today and hopefully I don't have to pull apart my whole tank and start over.

Pleasantly Surprised, Even Smelled Clean!
I ordered a small pack of 100 Lemna Minor from Aqua Habit. After reading all the reviews here, I prepped for the arrival of a smelly mess by setting up a tub outside with declorinated tap water, to rinse and clean up. Turned out to be a great decision, but not because of any stenches. These were packed in a small reclosable baggy, with a heat sealed plastic pack over that. I had no leakage. The vast majority of the plants looked very surprisingly healthy for a week long trip in 90 degree weather. Opening the pack, I can say the declorinating agent we use either made us nose blind or something, but these did not have any foul odor that my wife or I could detect. What was evident is a lot of root loss. Large clumps of it. This is what kept the tub useful! I rinsed the contents of the entire pack into the water, got the plants gently seperated and floating using a finger. Dead roots separated to the bottom after a few minutes, and I could net out the healthy plants on top without adding tiny hair roots to unnecessarily pollute the destination aquarium. All in all, I have probably twice as many as 100 tiny duckweeds that appear healthy and floating in my tank from this order, including about half with some degree of their tiny roots intact. I am certain some will die off, but I am also sure a bunch of it survived. As I have plenty of viable plants from this shipment, and because my pack arrived rather fresh appearing and pleasently unscented... this order gets a rare 5 star from me.

Not the end of the world but please read:
I'm jealous of the people who got theirs in cups. When I opened the yellow envelop and pulled the tinfoil wrapped sandwich bags and cardboard from inside, my wife asked if I'd bought drugs. Really was the worst shipping and packaging for plants ever, but then again, duckweed is a ridiculously hardy plant. The smell is next, these were definitely scooped from an outdoor, never cleaned, filled with all manner of bacteria growing pond of some sort. Now this all being said, I got much more than 100 live plants, which is great, however, on a hunch I took the time to diligently strain the water, separate chunks of duckweed and rinse them. Snails, dozens of them, and not just snails but what look to be little eggs of some sort. (not entirely sure on that but don't know what else they could be.) After rinsing and getting rid of the snails I have placed the duckweed in some containers to see if they survive and if I missed any other bugs. For the price, I got a shiz ton of plants, much more than I'll ever need. If they live then awesome but I would strongly recommend; opening the package outdoors, and quarantining the plants before adding them to your setups.

Oof.
Was shocked with the packaging, no care at all. Almost no water, absolutely no whether protection or anything to prevent crushing, nothing to let the postal system know it was a live product, so it was carelessly dropped in the hot mailbox rather than brought to my door.... like every other "live" anything I've ever bought. I followed the instructions carefully hoping to save them..... but by day 2 the stems started falling off, day 3 they turned yellow/white and by day 4 they all just disintegrated. My tank is well established with over 30 live plants from 7 different species, this is the first time I've ever struggled to keep a plant alive.

Decent for price, found 2 pests
Received my duck weed in a timely manner considering the weird times we are living in. Only a tad bit looked browned and came in a zip lock bag. However, there were notably 2 pests I found swimming around in with the weed. When I was purging them and rinsing them I was able to squish them. I do not know what they are, but they were clear and fast swimmers. Almost resembled clear baby shrimp but werent. I did not add all of them but just a few as I think these few will do the job replicating.
