This yarn worked up beautifully. It was soft and easy to work with. Everyone who saw the yarn loved the deep magenta color (very saturated). I love that it has a bit of sparkle. The person for who this is a gift for will love a bit of glam in there blanket. It also picked apart easily to undo work and it didn't have many knots.

Softer than expected, very nice

2.5 rounded downI gave this a lower review for a couple of reasons.To begin with, when I ordered this yarn I received an estimated delivery date of the 14th by 8PM, which I expected to be at least fairly accurate; however, 8PM on the 14th came and passed, and I had no package so I thought I'd checked Amazon. It was then, and only then, Amazon decided to tell me that not only was my package "delayed" it hadn't even been shipped yet.Literally the entire day up until after 8PM Amazon said it would arrive that day. So seeing this, and in a rush to finish my project, I decided I would buy yarn somewhere else and tried to cancel this yarn. Amazon said cancellations aren't guaranteed and don't always go through, but I naturally, as this yarn hadn't even been shipped yet, I assumed THIS would certainly go through.. There should be no difficulty cancelling under the circumstances, but, as I'm sure you've predicted by now, Amazon would not let me cancel. Exasperated, I tried to find a way to contact Amazon about this purchase, but there was no way provided, so all I could do was helplessly wait until it finally arrived on the 20th.Besides that, the yarn is alright. It's very cute, purple and sparkly. It's fairly soft and squishable. It is quite small, however. I knew it was only 3 ounces, and to be fair, this is mostly on me, but I didn't realize how small 3 ounces is. I assumed, for the price I was paying, it would be a bigger. The attached pictures depict a bundle of yarn I got from Wal-Mart for $6.44 versus this yarn for $7.34. The pictures doesn't even quite capture the disparity in sizes. I checked the label, and the Red Heart yarn is 10 ounces. I didn't expect this yarn to be as large as that, but maybe half the size at least? The Caron yarn IS softer, but it's so small there's really not much I can do with it, and it's definitely too little for the purpose I originally intended it.Overall, while the yarn itself is nice, I would say the value of such a small roll is low. On top of the shipping debacle, I won't be ordering this again.

I was making a Coraline doll and this shimmery blue was absolutely perfect for it.

I love this yarn, it worked up beautifully into a knitted shawl. The only thing that I was disappointed with was throughout one of the skeins the silver thread was broken every 3-4 inches and it was necessary to pull the silver thread and wrap it around the yarn in order to use it. This problem only occurred in one skein and I was still able to use it. I love the softness of this yarn, the workability, the finished product, and would highly recommend it. The only reason for not giving it an overall rating of 5 stars was due to the one skein that had the broken silver thread.
