Caribbean Music You Can Listen To
This CD is a classic collection of music that both older and new generations of Caribbean music fans can appreciate. It's the music you can listen to while playing dominoes on a warm, sunny day or while entertaining guests on a cool evening at a backyard BBQ. There are no harsh or inappropriate lyrics and the clarity of the recordings captures the essence of the Caribbean.

More if a novelty item
Not a diffinitive collection. Audio quality generally poor. There are a few gems but this is more of a gimmick-box novelty gift idea.

no matter who good your knowledge of ska and reggae is
No liner notes, packaging is negligible, just 60 top notch ska and reggae songs for $9.00. Definitely worthwhile, no matter who good your knowledge of ska and reggae is, you will find something you new.

This box is in my top 5 of best buys for this year so far
This box is in my top 5 of best buys for this year so far. I don't know much about Ska but I know what I like and I really like this set. I recommend it to anyone looking for great upbeat Jamaican sounds.

Really Great and such value for the price.
3 cd's all great recordings of original artist's, takes one down memory lane, and cheers up a very wet London day. bit later ref delivery but so worth the wait. Delighted I've got this compilation.

More Rocksteady than Ska
'Ska Anthems' is the title of this 3 CD boxset but there's actually very little ska tunes on it. As most of the tracks are rocksteady tunes from 1966-68, a few later reggae tunes and even some DJ cuts with U-Roy featuring on all 3 discs. That aside it's a great collection of Jamaican sounds, comes in a nice tin box and at a very decent price. The only problem I have with it (apart from the title) is the Bad Manners track right in the middle of disc 1. Now 'Sally Brown' isn't a bad song although I prefer the Laurel Aitken original but on this collection it just sticks out like a sore thumb!
