The size is small so the duration is not very long. It is portable and you can carry it in your pocket and thus have it on hand when you need it. I used it when I went into the wood in Oregon or Alaska before going into the woods to notice my presence. It was very useful.

I tried this item in the mountain and I wanted to make sure is enough noisy to repel any bear presence. 100% recommend

Didn't work at all. Have stray dogs in the area or just plain irresponsible dog owners who don't put a leash on their dog. Was attacked such a dog (ignorant owner) and the thing never worked. My screams helped but im60 and needed the added security. I'll never purchase this brand again wish I could leave NO STARS

We get coyotes in the backyard and I do a lot of hiking with my dog in the wilderness. I bought this in addition to bear spray to protect my dog. I keep it by the back door where I let my dog out to go potty. One afternoon my husband noticed a coyote in the backyard and my dog was out there too. My dog is about 47 lbs and chased it off but she is getting older and will not be able to fight off even one coyote. I haven't had to use it since I bought it, but it does provide some peace of mind. I also put these in stockings for my kids since they have dogs and do a lot of hiking.

Was rather disappointed with this. Was much smaller than I expected and even though it was prime, it’s not returnable due to the materials contained in it which makes it unsafe to ship back according to Amazon, which seems rather strange considering the fact Amazon shipped it to me through the mail! The instructions called for 1/4 second burst or 1/2 second burst for optimum number of bursts per can, but come on, 1/4 second burst? That’s kind of like a nanno second. Most people aren’t going to be that quick! I’m happy it’s made in the USA but for me, that’s the only thing it’s got going for it. I’ll keep it but next time I’ll do my homework a little more diligently before I order. A little too pricey for such a small container that cannot be returned in the same manner that it was shipped to me.
