Very cheaply made product. However, when we did get the AA size batteries installed correctly it did work. Just be sure not to drop this lamp or it will likely break. If you're planning to use this for awhile spend the extra money and get a good one. If you only need this for school (and a short duration and you're on a student budget), it will get you by.

Thought the woods lamp would head with the dreaded lice checks for my elementary grade child but it lights up fuzz better than anything. You still have to do the thorough comb through.It has a nice regular light to has turned out to be rather more useful.

Yes, it really is a BLB (Black Light Blue) bulb but it's only 4 watts and basically weak. It will do the trick but you'll have to hold it very close to whatever it is you're looking at.

it's good but doesn't fit the space button (bigger)other wise it's perfect and better then the clear silicon ones that i used to use.

Great product for use in eye work in a field clinic in Afghanistan. I sent this item to my son who is a Navy doctor and was posted to that god-forsaken country. Foreign bodies in the eye need complete evaluation for corneal abrasions as well as removal of the FB. This battery unit worked well. It was left there for the next doctor to use. Not a great expense. Too bad the Army/Navy couldn't afford to supply one to our doctors who take care of our sons and daughters in country.

We run an animal rescue so having a Wood's lamp at home to check the kittens ringworm status is helpful. We still take them to our vet for confirmation but we like being able to check them while they are still in their foster home.

I ordered this lamp because my kittens have been dealing with ringworm for a while and because their type of ringworm does fluoresce. I got the lamp to judge the treatment progress between the vet visits and to apply the topical treatment to the right spot. It works well though it shows a lot of other things too like dandruff, so one needs to be careful. I use what I see during the vet recheck as a guide so that I know what to look for.
