Cool Maker, Kumikreator Friendship Bracelet Maker Kit for Girls Age 8 & Up

We watched the 5 minute video and paused it as we went along. It was very clear and easy to follow. The spinning wasn't as smooth as you might expect, but we didn't have any jams or problems. The bracelets we made were tightly woven and pretty.I think you can make about 10 bracelets with the provided thread.Edited to add: I wrapped DMC cross-stitch thread around an empty spool. I didn't measure, but put around as much as the original spool looked. I did this with 8 spools. There was an issue with the tension head - I had to hold the thread instead of relying on the tension because the DMC thread was slippery/not thick enough. With another person's help, I was able to just continuously lift the thread as the wheel was turned. It ended up being a lot longer, but thinner. A fun option for those who hate to waste used spools.

I really liked this product. My daughter is craft crazy and we have tried just about every craft product out there. I can't stand most of them and find they are a waste of time and money.This product however that she requested for her 7th birthday is really cool and worth every penny.It looks intimidating but we followed the instructions carefully step by step & it worked beautifully. I helped her with first one and it came out perfect then she was able to do on her own. I showed her 10 year old friend once and she was also able to do it on her own. I think looking at it that we can refill the spools ourselves rather than buying refill packs but haven't tried yet. It is a really neat product that makes beautiful braided bracelets with such speed and ease (once you know what you are doing). It was a lot of fun!

LolThere are only so many clipsMost of the bracelets use 6-9 spools so the fun runs out rather quicklyAfter two uses we had a spool jam and the instructions directed me to a website with a video to show how to fix it. The written instructions for it were vague and you had no reference as to the part named.For finishing there are little spiked things that hold the strings together and then it goes inside the clip. However, it’s C shaped and has 3 small spikes but after wearing the one she made me 2-3 times the strings started to come out of the clip because of the spikes thing. It’s nearly impossible to get them back in there. It comes with little label tapes to seal them also but it needs a redesign on that part. Plus the spikes things are really hard to fully put in and I had to help my daughter. The ones I did haven’t fallen apart yet but the few of those she did have started to unravel. Just needs something easier for kids to put on and that holds better, potentially a similar item that folds and clips.

My 8 yo daughter bought this, and she loves it. There's a bit of a knack to it, but once you've figured it out, it's really simple to use. Her first bracelet she followed an included pattern, but since then she's been improvising her own designs. She loves to make them both for herself and as gifts. One of the spool holders didn't work when we unboxed it, but I contacted the company via their Facebook page and they quickly offered to send me a replacement at no cost to me. So I give this product five stars for both the product and for the customer service.

I read reviews that said the direction were hard to follow, but I didn't think so at all. I found the directions easy and clear, and I was quickly able to walk my 6 year old through it. Now she's made bracelets for all of her friends. The only con I have is there is a huge amount of waste. Each spool is wasted after one use. Even if there's still string on it, it isn't enough to do another piece. Then there's lot of little clippings. Not a deal breaker, but just annoying

I got this for my teenage daughter for Christmas. She enjoyed it for awhile and was able to make some cool bracelets with it, but the mechanism isn't very good quality, and it jams pretty regularly. My daughter showed a LOT of patience as she unjammed it and got it back in order. I would have smashed it. One too many jams, though, and she lost interest in it. She spent more time fixing jams than she did making bracelets. It went to the garbage can because I didn't have the heart to have some other child be disappointed with it.

I was really surprised that this actually worked - the bracelets are darling and my 9yr old daughter was thrilled to make them for herself and her friends. I would recommend taking it very slow the first time around and follow the directions carefully. There's even a point in the directions where it asks you to spot-check 4 or 5 places and this was very helpful. After you work through the first bracelet, you're good to go. It will take my daughter some practice to get it right every time but nothing wrong with that. This was a great gift!

I purchased this product for my 8 year old daughter, she had been asking about it for months. She made several bracelets for family and friends and really enjoyed the process. The refills are on the expensive side, but i’m Pretty sure you could save the bobbins and reload them with embroidery thread if you wanted.When we first opened the package some of the bobbins weren’t lined up properly and kept jamming the mechanism, but it was an easy fix.I rate this product at 5 stars because it brought my daughter a lot of joy while creating special bracelets for people she loves.
