Yes!
This was recommended to us by my son's OT and I LOVE it. I've even started using it on myself sometimes. It really helps kids make their brains work for them. And I love the zap button to stop negative thoughts. 10/10 recommend this

Awesome book for impulsive kiddos!
I'm a child & family therapist, and I work with a lot of kids with ADHD & other impulse control issues. I absolutely LOVE this book! I have the 1st version also, and did use it. But it was harder to get kids to engage with the simple black & white drawings. This new version with more engaging drawings in full color is a delight! When I read it with kids, they almost always engage with it immediately. The book's metaphor helps impulsive kids understand the crucial idea that they can self monitor & use skills to change their behavior. I also love that it models being ok with making mistakes - so many of these kiddos hear so much blame & shame.I do wish it had the activities from the 1st version. Though I didn't use those much, because kids just didn't engage as well with the 1st version's social story.

This book understands ADHD in a compassionate, easy to comprehend way
This book is amazing. The author totally understands what ADHD looks like- not just about being distracted and I'm so glad to have found a book that gets that! I am a child therapist and integrate this into my treatment for my elementary aged clients with ADHD. Kids really resonate with the main character without feeling judged. I read it with a client multiple times and they often reference it long after we stop reading it. It's open ended enough that you can include some extra activities to go along with it to enhance learning- I've had kids make their own remote control for more integrated learning, I read it to the kids because(especially kids with ADHD) reading can be a challenging activity and create frustration and that isn't the point of this book, Vivid pictures and I would definitely buy again. Great for kids, therapists, teachers, parents and anyone wanting to have more understanding of ADHD.

Perfect for ADHD kiddos
We bought this for my 5 year old with anxiety and ADHD and have encouraged the school to use it as well. We are so thankful for this book as it teaches so many great lessons. Some people thought there were too many "buttons" but I thought it was fine. I even had my kiddo calling his brain "amazing" just like they do in the book after a few readings. I was surprised I had never heard of this book as a self-regulation tool. We have tried so man self-regulation programs and this is the only one that sticks. THANK YOU!

Great Book For ADHD Kids and Their Parents
My son's therapist recommended "Hunter" to us and the concept impressed me from the get-go. The author truly has latched on to something that works for ADHD kids. My only critique, is that the remote control has a two, too many buttons. How do I know that? Well, I can't remember all of the buttons. :) If I can't remember all of them, my son certainly won't be able to. Also, the book is also about 2-4 pages too long. His attention span wavered when we got to the "coaching" part. If it could be shortened just a bit and the remote control simplified, it would be spot on. Well done!

Kids loved it!
I’m a school counselor and I used this book along with an activity I found online in which kids could make their own remote controls. They loved it! Weeks later I could say “we need to press our pause buttons” and they knew exactly what to do. This is by far the best lesson I’ve ever done and will continue to do every year.

Must read for children with adhd
The book is an amazing relatable resource for kids with adhd. Highly recommend it. It doesn’t speak specifically on adhd so it can be used to talk to children about impulse control.
