Better value & performance over OneWheel
I was on the wall about getting a OneWheel, since they’re so crazy-expensive and have *no* return policy once you've ridden it. So, I decided to get the SkootRider from Amazon because of the generous Prime return policy, in case I didn’t like it.I eventually bought a used OneWheel+ because I was really curious how much better it would be (and it was a great used price. So, I am able to directly compare both. And in my opinion, without even considering price - I think the SkootRider is better.*** SkootRider Benefits over OneWheel ***The Skoot rides *much* flatter than the OW. I ride pretty aggressively, especiallly when carving or going back-and-forth. With the Skoot, the platform stays very flat - the gyroscopes and motor torque react instantly to any acceleration or stop. But on the OW, the front and tail of the board dip massively, especially at low speeds. I often scrape the nose of the OW when doing a low-speed 180-degree hairpin turn - that doesn't happen with the Skoot. The Skoot is much easier to ride in a straight line, or when standing still, since the tire has a flatter profile. When standing still on the OW, there’s considerably more effort required to keep from losing balance & falling off - more akin to standing on a bowling ball. Not that big of a deal after a ton of practice, but worth mentioning. The Skoot looks and feels more heavy-duty than the OW. There are super-strong looking welds holding the platform to the hub. And the Skoot is much heavier. The Skoot is safer than the OW in regards to a runaway board if you fall off. The foot pads have a dead-man switch, where as soon as pressure on the switch is lost, the wheel immediately stops spinning. On the OW, if it doesn’t detect pressure while in motion, it’ll still keep going. I assume this is because OW doesn’t want their device to cut out during intense off-road riding (where you’ll be bumping around and may temporarily lose contact with the foot pads). Because of the Skoot's deadman switch, I’ve never had my board shoot off when I fall off or bail. My OW has run away several times - most recently, I nosedived while crossing the street and the board kept going after I fell off - going maybe 15ft away before sliding to a stop.*** OneWheel Benefits over SkootRider ***The OW community is HUGE (Facebook, Forums, Reddit, etc...). Tons of accessories, forums, and mods possible.TONS of mods - Fenders, carrying handles, rail protectors, stands, grip tape, etc...The OW looks much aesthetically pleasing over the "ho-hum" utilitarian Skoot. The wood footpads and sleek rails of the OW are pretty sexy. You’re supporting an American company. The OW is lighter. The OW has a much higher top speed.*** Conclusion ***After owning both at the same time, price aside, I think the SkootRider is the slightly better device for my needs. With price in consideration, the Skoot is MOST DEFINITELY better, since you can find them for $600-$700 nowadays (especially if you buy direct from China, where they’re called Trotter boards). On Amazon, at the $1,000+ price, it’s less of a good deal, since used OneWheels can be had for cheaper (and there’s pretty much no market for used SkootRiders or Trotter boards)

Is not as good as 1 Wheel
Very unstable and hard to mount. When you get on it wants to go backward.
