Worth more than every penny
I searched diligently over a period of time before choosing this book to purchase. I am a photographer and passionate about what I do but my photography is not my "day job" or primary source of income, so I'm conscientious in my purchases such that they do not tip the scale between professional-on-the-side and...very expensive hobby. ;)What ultimately persuaded me to purchase this book before all others was the very detailed review by Paul Lehmann (...) in conjunction with the editorial reviews of the book. Thanks in large part to Mr. Lehmann's review, I was reassured that this would be a useful primary resource as opposed to a basic checklist, a look down the nose ala jpeg vs RAW and personal stylistic choices with little relevant information, or a very expensive advertisement for equipment that may be superfluous depending on so many factors an author/editor might choose to ignore. This book really is just wonderful. It goes beyond its advertised "wedding" focus and gives clear, useful, and very relevant information. Within minutes of flipping through random pages of this book, I found myself saying, "Oh, wow!" - not to a picture (though the author does a stand-up job of using his images to illustrate his point & not just show off what he does) but to information that miraculously resolved a small but long-lasting irritation I've had with a bit of processing equipment, I knew I found a gem of a book. I am very pleased that my money was very well spent on something that will ensure my continued growth and success as a photographer. I am equally pleased with how the author presents, supports, and approaches the information he provides in this book. If he leaves anything out, I don't have an argument with it as this isn't a "how to" & I'll take some exclusions or glossing over as an assumption that I've got the basics down. I'm happy dealing with any such omissions if it means there aren't three chapters dedicated to how to put the pieces of your camera together, an ego-coddling "don't expect perfection the first time around" section, etc. This book will never get dusty!

Extravagent weddings
This is a lovely book, filled with great idea.My one observation is that it highlights what appear to be very expensive weddings. Not all are so.

I learned a lot about wedding photography
This book is well-written and easy to read. It contains so much helpful information that I found myself reading this book twice. Each time I read it, I gleamed more useful information from it. It's even got me thinking about trying my hand at photographing a wedding. I recommend it for anyone trying to learn something about wedding photography.

A must read for aspiring wedding photographers.
I can't speak confidently like if I have shot dozens of wedding when I have done none. Thanks to this book. Glen does an excellent job communicating the art and techniques of wedding photography in a simple way. However, if you just bought your first digital camera this book is not for you.

Very thorough and informative
I will be photographing my first wedding in a few weeks and I purchased this book to give me an idea about the standard poses I need to shoot, the kit I will need etc. This book is ACE. It is very thorough. For anyone needing to know about the actual technical skills of photography, this is not the book for you. The author assumes a good foundation of knowledge about F stops, exposure etc. What he does do is explain how to tailor such knowledge to the specifics of a wedding, where things will probably be happening quickly and where lighting can be problematic. It would be too much to provide a precis of the contents here but I do want to say it is a really good book. An established portrait or wedding photographer may not need this book but for somebody starting out in the business or just wanting to photograph a friend's wedding, this is perfect.Highly recommended.

Not bad, but I expected more.
A great 'manual' for beginners, it covers everything you need to know about wedding photography. For a seasoned photographer you'll find it covers a lot you already know. I wanted to be inspired by this book, but wasn't really. The photography on the whole is good but not outstanding. Its definately worth a read, and may well be the best wedding photography book out there. I haven't read any others.

My master
This author learned me the most i know of wedding photography. This book is the one you really need if you plan to start out in this business. He gets around every part of doing this as a business, but also has lots of inspiration to give about the photography itself.
