Japanese for Busy People III: The Workbook for the Third Revised Edition incl. 1 CD (Japanese for Busy People Series) Paperback – Illustrated, January 2, 2008

This book is really for advanced learners. For me it was very helpful to have a Japanese teacher as I studied from this book. I would have preferred it if the reading dialogues in the book was more geared to what you would encounter in everyday life in and around Japan. In my opinion, some of the topics are so far from everyday conversation. However, the vocabulary in each lesson is very good.

We are using this text in class. The Material is relevant, with enough depth and breadth. the CD's that came with the text and the exercise book (2 different CD's) are a joy to listen to. I play them in my car, saying a long as best I can. The speech seems to be normal conversation speed. This is intended for the advanced-Intermediate learner. Would be excellent as a text in class as well as for self-studies.I find this set, plus the Japanesepod101.com lessons online, and the Pimseuler CD's are the most efficient, effective and enjoyable way to learn.

I am starting Intermediate Japanese (Japanese 5) and this is the book for the course. I am giving this a 4 because I wish that the chapters were longer and more indepth, but since I have a native japanese speaker instructing, he does a good job filling in the gaps. Also, as one studying for the JLPT, I wish more japanese books taught along those guidelines.

As a linguist for the past 35 years, I have found that the entire series, "Japanese for Busy People", undoubtedly comprises the most outstanding language learning material that has ever been published in any language. It is obvious that a prodigious commitment was made in order to successfully compile such a user friendly, organized and efficient course, which deserves prominant world recognition.

Fine addition to an excellent instructional series

This is a good textbook for those leaving elementary Nihongo and starting to make their way through intermediate.My only request would be for more listening content. I can listen to all the listening in both the student book and the workbook within the space of a of bus trip or two to work.A more personal request would be to not put any English on listening tracks. It's so off-putting hearing that very American voice (no, we're not all Americans studying Japanese) saying very slowly in a very strong American accent something like "Unit three. Lesson three. Three. John Smith visits his professor ...etc" Do it in Japanese, or cut it altogether.

Japanese for Busy People is an ever famous book series for learners of Japanese language. It's a must have for new learners of Japanese language.

I'd like to have seen more exercises but it's still a good addition to the core text.
