SR-71A Blackbird 1/72 Die Cast Model, 1-7962,"R.I.P. Detachment 1"

This model exceeded my expectations. It's die cast and the details are quite impressive. The included stand displays it at an aggressive takeoff angle. I chose not to show it with the landing gear extended to maintain the clean lines of the fuselage and wings. Most of the details are cast (including rivets, ribbed panels, flight control surfaces and access panels). The few painted markings (no step areas, access port markings and tail numbers) are very crisp and in accurate colors. The exterior color is dark charcoal with very little reflection which is also accurate to the real plane's titanium exterior. I am extremely happy with this model and proudly display it on my desk at work. My only issue is that the inserts that cover the recesses where the landing gear would attach are plastic and don't fit tightly so a little epoxy was needed.
