Modelcraft PPV0004 1-Piece Wing Nut Hand Vice, Silver

Quite a good, sturdy tool but jaws do not close to less than about 1mm so manufacturers claim that it can hold wire of that size is not correct. An extra 1mm of thread on the wing nut screw would solve the defect. Using a washer cured the problem and it now closes up fully, but I shouldn’t have needed to do that. Still, a very handy tool to have. Just make sure you have a washer!

It's smallish, but what a great little hand vice. Well made and at a reasonable price.Ideal for holding all your awkward little bits and pieces. The hole through the handle is very useful too. Personally I use it for holding my tiny mosaic pieces safely whilst shaping them to fit my projects. But I'm sure it's great for other purposes as well.In fact I was so impressedl I've now ordered a second one!!

The jaws don't close for thin work, it needs a spacer or washers to allow the jaws to close under the clamping screw head.Ok if you're a model engineer but doesn't work out of the box. Be aware that it's not a lot of good.
