The Big Print: What Happened To America And How Sound Money Will Fix It

An easy to read book about a very important and complex issue: money
In this highly accessible book about the history of money & economics, Larry Lepard eloquently and gracefully makes the case for a return to a sound money system. Before the book came out, I heard the author speak at several bitcoin conferences. So I knew I wanted to read it. Larry is a clear and endearing storyteller who makes economic and financial concepts easy to understand. This serves well his ultimate argument that we must reform our corrupt monetary system controlled by central banks (primarily The Federal Reserve). He does this by weaving historical facts with compelling quotes, charts and data tables that prove our monetary system has been rigged our entire lives and puts us in a state of perpetual serfdom. His research is conveniently footnoted at the bottom of the page, rather than at the end of the book which made for deeper reading, if one chooses. I have a feeling I will be frequently reaching for this book to reference many of facts presented to back up the sound money argument. On top of the great academic and historical lessons in the book, Larry weaves in stories of own family's struggle and scarring from a monetary system beyond their control, as he grew up in a once great manufacturing base in the upper Midwest of America. His stories from having a front row seat at the microprocessor (1980's) and Internet (1990's) revolutions are worth reading just by themselves.Although Larry has been very successful as an investment advisor managing his and other people's monies, he has had his share of bad calls along the way which have tempered him and his writing style with grace and humility. This book demonstrates he knows the value of money and that there are things in life more important than money.Upon finishing the book, not only do I feel more educated about monetary history, the importance of sound money, the wickedness of inflation and the hope of Bitcoin, I feel like a friend to Larry even though we've never met. This makes the book a remarkable and accessible history of recent economic events that is really a personal tale about what led him to value hard money for himself and the World.

Crucial Read NOW - Your financial health demands it
One of the most consequential, very articulated subjects of our current monetary order. If you want insight into where we currently are and where we are headed monetarily, then you MUST read this book, NOW

Good read
I bought this book as a subtle attempt to orange pill my dad but I read it first before gifting it to him. It gives a good background on the financial system and how we got to where we are today and makes a good case for how sound money can fix it. I consider it a great primer for the lay person who hasn't dipped their toes into BTC yet.

I wish every person would take the time to read this.
This book is very informative and well thought out. I am very disappointed in people. Our entire society in the USA is distracted to the point of no return. I really enjoyed the history of corruption and trying to explain this to other people seems like a lost cause. Explaining this book to other people feels like I am spoon feeding a room full of spoons. I stopped trying to help my friends. They seem as if they are on a life mission to remain broke. I have been consistently buying BTC since 2020. It is very frustrating watching people struggle and they never take even 5 minutes to at least watch a YouTube video, or God forbid, read a book. It is like something out of the movie "They Live" ( don't even get me started ) and they won't put on the sunglasses. Excellent book. I fear I may have to retire with other Bitcoin people because I am very frustrated dealing with stubborn people that look at me as if I am lying to them. Great job dumbing society down. Mission accomplished. Our school system sucks. On the bright side.....we always will have sports, pop music and tic tok to entertain us while we sleep underneath that bridge. Yeah...I'm a ray ofsunshine. I need to get off world.

A MUST READ for everyone!
This is a fantastic book that everyone should read (not just Bitcoiners). Inflation and debt are crushing us and Larry does an amazing job of laying out exactly what is wrong, the history of how we got here, and finally a number of chapters presenting different aspects of the solution. This book is a super easy read, since it is presented as a “story” line with a beginning, middle and end. It includes a ton of charts that illustrate obvious facts and trends which are very clearly explained. He also recites many stories from his personal and family experiences which helps a lot. In fact, he begins the book with a personal story that immediately grabs your attention and then consistently builds on the premise keeping you engaged throughout the entire book. Do yourself a favor and get this book, cannot recommend it enough!

Best book on recent monetary shenanigans in the USA
Excellent book. Broken Money was an excellent book but this book is just as good, and serves as a good reminder of the recent past and what we should learn from it.
