Great TV with a Magic Remote Control to be HATED!
This OLED TV lives up to the advertising and hype given it by many reviewers: it DOES make beautiful pictures, and its sound is better than that of most flat-screen models. However, I was shocked when I tried to operate it using the LG Magic 3D remote... It works by RF, and the TV will pair with only one Magic Remote at a time. This makes the TV incompatible in large degree with my extensive old-fashioned system of Infrared remotes which learn the commands of all of my other system hardware. I complained to LG Customer Support; their quick response patiently explained that this TV IS compatible with both the Magic Remote AND the standard LG infrared remote, Model Number AKB75375604. LG didn't make clear this fact in its advertising, and I found it nowhere among the reviews or the LG User Manual. Buy an LG ThinQ TV only if you can live with the Magic remote, or are willing to revert to the standard IR remote, which will not access all the Magic functions, including Voice Control. You can use both at your convenience.I also elected NOT to connect this hyper-smart TV to my Wi-Fi-Internet system. The privacy implications of doing so are overwhelming. As a result, I will not be able to use the extensive connectivity and many special features of this TV. Personally, I just want my TVs to make pictures and sound, and wish they had a single switch to inhibit all smart features.
