Beautifully packaged, with bag and chess rules. Lovely set

I’m teaching my youngest how to play chess and wanted a set that was a step above the usual “10 in 1” set you get from supermarkets and the like. This seemed like a nice set that wouldn’t break the bank.The set is presented really well, in a nice card box wrapped with a bow. Both the board and pieces are wood. The set includes a drawstring bag and a printed piece of A4 running through the rules of chess. The board is a single varnished piece about 30cm square with the playing area painted (printed) on. Unfortunately the print is slightly skewed off-centre but you’ve got to look very hard to notice. The pieces are painted wood and range from about 2cm for pawns to about four for the King. They’re all well done and it’s obvious which piece is which. Some of the pieces have some slight finishing snags but again, you’ve got to look really closely.I like this set. It has a charm in the way it’s presented and the way it feels to play with. It’s not perfect in that it has a few rough edges but given it’s relatively low cost I can forgive that. No, I’m not going to have it on display in the living room but as an everyday set for a younger player I’m very happy.

This chess set looks beautiful and is a very substantial product. Family had great fun playing this game over Christmas.

Lovely looking product. It was bought for an elderly gentleman. But being very light the pieces fall over when knocked.

Lovely chess set that I have bought for my grandson who is shortly having his 13th birthday. He has played chess a few times and is pretty keen. I like the idea of children playing real games rather than electronic devices. A lovely chess set for young and old alike. Comes beautifully wrapped and has an instruction booklet, a little bag to keep your chess pieces in, a clearly marked chess board and easily recognisable chess pieces. A great quality chess set at a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend this company.
