BEWARE of Poor Subscription Services, Double Billing, and Threat of Collections!
This review is not about the magazine, but about the subscription service. I bought this subscription for my father for Christmas last year. I placed the order correctly as a gift with his address as the recipient. I received the first two issues at my home. The first issue I assumed was a "thank you" (I've received thank you copies of magazines as promotions in the past). The second I knew was a mistake. My father had never ordered this magazine before.I contacted the subscription service via phone to tell them they had the wrong address. I told them the correct address. In April of this year, he begins receiving his subscription *and a bill for the magazine.* He calls the subscription service telling them he'd never ordered. I called them to tell them I placed the order *and paid for it.* After receiving threatening phone calls and letters stating he would be turned over to collections and reported to a credit agency--he paid for the subscription AGAIN.I don't know if this is an Amazon issue or a publication issue. But regardless, part of my Christmas gift was spoiled by someone and my 86 year old father had to pay for it. BAD FORM!!

Covers All Look Alike
Gun magazines have never been very helpful. They're written and published by people more interested in the advertising buck ($$$). When the "review" is on page 26 and a half page ad by the same company/product is on page 37, I don't imagine we'll ever see a negative review. Another problem is that every month there's another plastic gun that looks just like the one on the cover of the previous issue!Another problem with gun reviews is that they appear to be published with templates. They not only show you the gun in mind-numbing detail, they then describe the gun in lurid detail, I guess for their blind readers. The photos are always crisp and clear, but writers will never compare, say, ther Ruger Security-Six to the newer GP-100, primarily because the former is so much better than the latter. Besides, like all such magazines, the real money's in the advertising, not the subscriptions. That's why if a test gun ever horribly malfunctions, they quietly send it back to the company and never mention it in the copy. But even the NRA, years ago, did that. Fortunately, most test guns are tested by the manufacturer before the tester sees them. The magazines do serve a purpose in tooting the new products coming out. But don't ever expect them to give you an honest review. That's not their job.

decent magazine
the articles seem pretty good, I've only read a couple of issues so far. Photography is good, reviews of firing tests are fine, nothing seems unusual here. Nice range of handguns reviewed, revolvers, sem-autos, different calibers, etc. There's been a "tips" article on better shooting or for competition or maintenance, and an article or two on features to look for in a special-situation carry. I plan to get a subscription. My only complaint is this is a bi-monthly, not monthly publication.

Keep it coming
Love this magazine and I hope Amazon keeps it in the inventory. Their subscription service is second to none and I use it frequently.

guns and ammo-handguns
if you like handguns. want to know about handguns for home defense or competition? this is a great magazine to help you figure out what is out there. this months issue was on concealed carry. what the pitfalls are when carring, what not to wear when carrying with the different style of holsters. this magazine is expanding towards the home defense person for loads, CCW and the pro's and con's of certain handguns. it is very informative and a great read

great magazine and price
Have had subscription for years and then found the price here was better than direct renewal. Continues my subscription without missing an issue and no overlapping issues either
