I bought this umbrella because of the UV protection. Since it cost $47 I expected to receive a quality product. However, after only 8 days of normal use two stretchers broke. I do not recommend buying this umbrella!!

I bought this for protection in the hot California sun on vacation. Never needed it until I came home to 90+ weather in Portland Oregon. Soooo wonderful. I actually felt cooler under there. Worth the extra money over another cheaper brand I bought and will donate. Don't hesitate because of the price. You get what you pay for.

This is a medium size sun umbrella that folds to a small size. It's perfect for one person. The materials seem to be of good quality.So far I have had no problems with the umbrella and it handles light winds just fine. The umbrella has a solid feel and mechanically works smoothly.Like every umbrella you have to use common sense when using it. If you need to keep the blazing sun off you body this umbrella works just fine.The plastic handle has a nice feel to it and is easy use.

I understand that this umbrella's top priority is to block Ultraviolet radiation, but an umbrella should first and foremost be able to handle rain and this umbrella can do that for a time, until the metal parts end up rusting off..It hasn't even rained much and there are already signs of rust on the springs and even the handle.Regardless, I could handle that one, but this umbrella also has clear durability issues. Many of the strings holding the ribs to the umbrella have snapped, one of my ribs snapped in multiple places, one of the rods snapped in half and overall it has been a nightmare.I've had to epoxy multiple parts since I've had this umbrella. The durability is questionable and it rusts quickly. I would not recommend this umbrella to anyone. The "UV" umbrella line is something you should avoid overall. The title is used to sell cheap umbrella's like this. Save yourself and just buy a reputable black umbrella that has high wind protection, it may not have the reflective coating but it'll at least last much longer.

I live in Miami Beach, and the sun is a serious issue here. I love how easy this umbrella is to pop open and closed, and that makes me more likely to use it. It's easy for me to use it to walk to the car because I can press the retract button as I get between the cars and it collapses instantly and makes it easy for me to get into the car. Then I just reload it by compressing it and it's ready to use when I get out of the car. The vent and the sturdy construction even made it possible for me to use it when I got caught in a rain storm on my bicycle. I went 15 MPH over a bridge with a lot of wind on me, and it didn't invert or blow away or get damaged. The handle feels solid and I can get a good grip on it. I can't think of anything that I would improve, and so I'm getting another one for my wife.

This umbrella works when used in sunny and rainy weather. Used it at DisneyWorld (July is FL’s rainy month and we got soaked). Temps there were high 90’s and humidity at 90%. I’m using it in Palm Desert this week. Temps are in the middle 100’s. Umbrella lowers temps by 15 to 20 degrees.

This UV umbrella has held up very well with the daily use. I live in Arizona and I’m constantly in and out of the sun. This umbrella goes with me everywhere. It’s blocking my skin from having sun damage on my face and chest and even cuts down on the heat level. Remember: The sun is NOT your friend and no one wants to age. Protect it with UV umbrellas.

I am a teacher and this year I have duty outside with kids at recess. This is around noon and in an area that has NO SHADE. Shade is a big deal in South Texas. After about 1 day, I decided that I needed a UV protected umbrella. I know nothing about umbrellas - again, from South Texas - but after doing some research, I selected the UVDAY Silver with Auto Open and Close. Love it! Not only does it keep the sun off, it is way cooler under that umbrella. The auto open and close are great. My hands a kind of weak, but all I have to do is press a button. This umbrella is worth every penny.
