Received my LED flares and installed the batteries last night. 3 of the flares worked perfectly but 1 would not turn on. Changed the batteries twice and confirmed it was DOA. While having one of the units fail would not typically equate to a 5 star rating, what made this a 5 star product was the customer service interaction I had with the seller. I used the enclosed instructions to contact the seller via email and had a very prompt response the next morning and 2 new flares shipped to me to replace the 1 that was bad. Incredibly fast and polite response to my issue which turned a 3-4 star experience into a 5 star experience. All products have some level of failure and the way the seller addresses those issues is very important to me.The flares themselves seem to be of solid construction and the bag that is included holds them in a secure and compact fashion. They are very bright and would be visible from a significant distance on a dark roadside. The hook and magnet on the back offer multiple mounting options and the assortment of light modes is easy to access and scroll through.

These are awesome flares and come in a handy pack of four. I bought 2 packs to try them out and liked them so much I bought 4 more for other family. They were impressed with them and are now planning to buy them for their families! The different flashing options and super brightness will certainly get attention if needed (I bought these after our black car had a flat at night and flashers alone don't cut it) and the flashlight/hook features are bonuses (be sure not to look directly at flashlight - wow!). So, they don't come with batteries. I saw someone dinged the seller for that in a review. BUT, I purposefully bought these from Grease Monkey because they DON'T come with batteries (as stated). I preferred to know the batteries were brand new and my favorite brand. Inserting the batteries was easy and just took a little time, no big deal. Just make sure you pull gently from the clear tabs when removing and line them back up for putting the back on to tighten the screws. Also, the seller...very good to work with. My very last flare (out of 24) didn't work well, so I wrote to ask if he could send me just one to replace it. Wrote me back the same day, said he would send me two immediately and gave me the shipping tracking number. He also mentioned it could be the batteries as has happened before. I had bought a brand new pack so really didn't think that was it, but a few days later I decided to try a few more batteries out of curiosity and he was right! It lit right up and worked perfectly. So here I'm getting two new flares and it was my fault. I don't write many reviews but thought this one deserved one. This is a great safety buy from a great seller and you'll probably feel some relief as I do that they are in the car. And, I know I have four flashlights for whenever I may need them too.

I have to say that I don't write a lot of reviews, but these road flare flashers are absolutely the coolest things I've seen in a long time!They are incredibly bright, with the many flash patterns; My favorite is the rotating flashing light - You look like a tow truck in that mode! Totally waterproof, with rubber 'bumpers' around the edge so the plastic light housing won't get scratched; Waterproof on/off/mode button also. Magnet is strong enough that if you forgot one on your roof, it will still be there later. Really, really well designed, it includes a 'flashlight mode' with three of those crazy-bright CREE leds, because... Why not?You should have several of these: At the very least, one puck in the road behind your vehicle, one on top (that one stands out like you won't believe), I like one about 1 or 2 feet INTO the road from my rear wheel, the traffic totally goes around it, very safe using your door on the traffic side. And finally, one in your hand in flashlight mode. With good batteries, they last for so many hours, you'll use them again and again.Probably the coolest things I've ever bought on Amazon, and I've bought a lot of cool things here. And, no, nobody paid me or gave me anything to write this review. I just truly love these things, I wish I could use more of them... Oh, we put one on rotating flash when we were camping, and we heard a bear. No Kidding, we didn't hear any more bears!

The product seems to be of good quality build but haven't exposed it to weather yet. It is very bright and highly visible. Magnet and hook make deployment very easy and effective. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the senseless design for access to the battery compartment. It is time consuming and difficult requiring great care and way too much time. Great caution is needed not to strip out the plastic screw hole threads with the metal screws and it would be so much faster if the common use of tension latches were used. If battery life proves to be short, this will reduce the rating even more. I use high quality batteries that last a long time in other appliances and hopefully the batteries will last long enough that replacement will not need to happen very often and especially during an event. The rating should probably be 3.5 stars but I decided to give the benefit of the doubt and go with 4.
