Good Plan, but Here's What I Couldn't Get Over.....
Basically, this is a "Keto," or Ketogenic diet, sans dairy, with additional weekly re-feeds of what the author calls "safe carbs" (white rice, potatoes, mostly). It's also a variation on the Bulletproof diet, but seems more "Keto-esque" to me because of the more limited food list. This plan's additional re-feeds and other modifications are designed specifically for women who might have issues or problems with Intermittent fasting or IF.The plan seems really simple and easy and the author does a good job of clearly outlining it, with lists, etc.HOWEVER, and this is a big HOWEVER, here's my own list of the problems I personally had with the book:1. The book does not offer any account of results, except those based on the author's own experience. Yes, it's a new book, but after waiting more than a year and searching online, I still cannot find one testimonial regarding this plan (or, really, Bulletproof) having any results or lasting results. The scant folks who discuss positive losses from Bulletproof seem all to be men, whom we all know, lose weight at a much higher rate than women. Also, the men posting positive results from Bulletproof had significant weight to lose in the first place. Perhaps these results are out there somewhere; I just cannot seem to find them. Relatedly, I can't seem to find any photos of the author online. If it worked for her, why doesn't she show off the results? That just seems to be standard practice in the diet book industry. Or, if you don't want to put your photo online (and I can't blame a person there), perhaps try to include some sort of additional evidence that this is a plan that will work. Else I feel like I am completely changing my lifestyle for something that may or may not work! And, on the "hard days" I did feel like that. I needed something more to keep me going!2. The author talks about her highest weight being in a zone that most American women see as normal, even "thin." She talks about how her mother was shocked to see her at that horrible disgusting weight and the accompanying self-loathing that she felt. I know we all have our happy weights and it's dependent on frame and muscle, etc., but this was just not fun for me to read: It's like that thin friend we all have who complains about how fat she is and then makes us wonder "well, what must she be thinking about ME??" Besides just being completely offensive and, in a way, even bordering on fat-shaming (i.e. I can't love myself at this weight), it made me wonder if the book would work for someone like me trying to get to that "so-called fat" number. (And, I should mention, that most diet books could be seen to participate in some form of "fat shaming" - this, to me, is nothing new.)4. So, did it work for me? Actually, it did to an extent, but I modified it a bit to go on to lose 40 lbs in two and a half months. That is, I also did light cardio (20 minutes per day) and began walking more. This cardio is not part of the plan. And, I didn't do it as much for weight loss as just to strengthen my lungs and break a sweat and put some color into my skin. So, I am not sure if the 40 that I lost was in any part due to that. I also skipped some re-feeds when I felt that my body didn't need them. I did them more like once a week. Here, I just listened to my body and didn't force it. I did not take all of the supplements recommended. But those I did take, I use to this day. Finally, I quit drinking all but for once a week. (The book says never to drink.) I drank on the re-feed days (what a coincidence!). But, I was a 2-3 time a week drinker before this diet and perhaps the fact that I just cut down on the booze also contributed my losses. Maybe I was so bloated from the booze that I was carrying 20lbs of water, too. That's a possibility since I retain water like nobody's business.Overall, I believe it's a good plan - very easy to follow. I just wish, again, the tone in places was less toward fit women and more toward the rest of us, although the author does try to make it very straightforward when it comes to outlining what to do. I would also like to see some evidence somewhere that it works for others.

Excellent How-to Guide
Pros: I bought this book after clicking around and reading the reviews on all the keto diet books out there and not finding any that seemed to be "it." Some books were rated very highly by most readers, but complaints were that the material was too technical and didn't really explain how to go about implementing the diet. Others were cook books only. I had been doing research on the different variations of the keto diet and had run across Dave Asprey's Bulletproof diet and was intrigued. However, a number of commenters felt his book was too self-promoting and read like an infomercial (not that there's anything wrong with trying to sell your products, but I wanted facts first) so I kept clicking. This book is a very good condensation of numerous books covering the ketogenic diet, and specifically the Bulletproof diet. It is geared toward women, which is great since weight-loss programs work differently for men than for women. The author has conducted extensive research and distills a wide variety of sources down to a succinct 74 pages, giving the reader exactly what they need to understand how the keto diet works and how to implement it. The writing style is straightforward, factual, and to the point, with no anecdotes or other car-salesman nonsense trying to convince you why you should adopt the lifestyle. In fact, she is very candid about the fact that if you are not willing to give up sugar and other simple carbs, the diet will not work, come back when you are ready. I found this to be exactly what I was looking for, the lay explanation of why it works plus the "how to" structure without a lot of extraneous information that is nice-to-know but not really needed. The author directs you to other sources if you want to get down in the weeds on the science, does not pretend to be an authority on the subject but is merely compiling her research and explaining what worked for her, and provides links to food sources for grass-fed products if they are hard to find in your area. The cons have nothing to do with the content of the book, just the quality of the printed product: the type seemed to be a light or faded gray against a yellow background, and small type, which was difficult for me to read. The book also seemed to have spacing and right/left justified issues in places, paragraph heading at the bottom of one page with the text beginning on the next, etc., which is the reason I am subtracting one star. If the book had been edited and printed with a bit more professional look and attention to detail, I would have given it 5 stars.

So Far, So Good!
So far, so good, but I am waiting to give 5 stars until I see the full results.I have struggled with the last 10 vanity pounds - you know, the kind that only you seem to see and everyone else thinks you look great? I read about the Bulletproof Diet and Skye and decided to go with this purchase, since it is for women, by women.I started the initial 10 days last Monday, so today is day 8. 6 pounds lost so far. Much of it is no doubt water weight, as she explains in the book, but I am happy to see my normal measurements again after a few vacation mishaps which caused me to bloat. The scale really does move with this diet, but more importantly, so does the tape measure.I like the diet so far because even though I get hungry a few times during the morning, by the time it's time to eat, the hunger is gone. I think if anything, I am struggling to eat enough calories, which she recommends doing to lose the weight. I just don't have to appetite to squeeze three meals into an 8-hour window, so I am trying to do two strong meals with some fatty snacks in between. As she explains, you really just aren't overly hungry on this diet.I am anticipating the scale moving more slowly, since I am approaching the 10th day and now two carb re-feeds a week, but I plan to stick to this for at least 30 days to see more results. PS: I don't miss grain-y carbs much, but what I wouldn't give for a piece of fruit! I will need to see if that can be a part of the carb re-feed days (fingers crossed).PS: If you suffer from any kind of IBS (I have ulcerative colitis), this may be your ticket to a healthy stomach. I've had zero issues with my intenstinal health since starting this, and I'm just coming off of a flare, so I really commend the diet for that as well. Will update soon.

Short but has all the info you need!
Loved it! Got me back on track with keto by supplying me with a clear strategy based on my circumstances, mainly being female! This book has all the info you need as a woman to make the LCHF lifestyle work for you. It goes over the important and relevant points regarding high fat eating for it to work with a womans biology. It's written like your friend is talking to you about everything you need to know and explained with a scientific reason anyone will be able to understand.I was confused about butter coffee and intermittent fasting, when is best to work out, how should I work out and how much recovery time in between etc I'm no longer confused! This explains what to do and what no to do but also WHY.

8lbs gone in 10 days, THIS WORKS
I'm a long-term LCHF-er, my weight had plateaued for about a year. I'd heard about this and decided to give it a go. The science behind it makes lots of sense to me and I found it easy to adapt to. I never ever feel hungry, I wake up feeling refreshed every day and exercise is reduced to a minimum. I'm having two meals a day as well as the bulletproof coffee and constantly have to remind myself to eat, food no longer dictates to me, I'm completely in control and find that it's happening in every aspect of my life. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
