Cool Idea!
I was needing a new clock for the kitchen, and I figured this would be perfect as I shouldn't have to worry about changing the batteries or finding an outlet - I just need water!I'll admit I was a little skeptical when I ordered it, but since it was pretty cheap I went through with it. It took about 30 minutes for the water to initially get the clock going, and that was almost 3 months ago. After 60 days of continuous power I decided to test the clock to see how long it took for the power to turn off - that was about a month ago and it's still running with no water at all in the container. What does that mean? I don't know, I still think it's a neat product and enjoy not having to buy batteries for it, but I'm curious as to why it's still running and the little cloth strip is bone dry. There were no problems or defects found with this product, but simply can't give it 5 stars with it running about 28 days with no water in the container.-----------edit: It took 30 days for the power in the clock to finally go down low enough for the time to not be displayed on the screen. Adding water to the fill line and a few minutes wait, brought the correct time back to the screen. Great product!

Water clock
It was cheap so I figured why not give it a shot. Like other reviewers said, it takes 2-3 hours to get going but has been running for a month now on the initial fill. I didn't see any info on how frequently (if at all) that you need to replace the water, so we'll see how that goes. The one thing I will point out that is a little deceptive when looking at the photo here, is that it takes very little water (maybe a quarter cup), you don't fill it all the way up. There are a set of fill marks on the back so be aware of that. Otherwise it's a great simple digital clock that is good for the environment.*UPDATE - So what I thought was going to be "good for the environment" turns out to be the exact opposite. Apparently (after reading some reviews on other water clocks) these work via a "corrosion" process in which the water reacts with a piece of metal to create the electric current. The problem is that once the metal corrodes away the clock stops working (mine lasted a little over 2 months) - and it's not something that you can replace. USELESS! Now instead of just replacing batteries, I have to replace the whole clock. It's a great concept, but they need to make it in such a way so that you can replace the metal corrosion piece.

Great idea?
The instructions that come with this cute little clock are less than helpful (reminds me of the old days when many products came with hilarious instructions badly translated from Japanese. I did manage to figure out how to set the clock, but although it seems to have a calendar function, I can't get it set correctly.

I love it
Amazingly, this clock works great. And the only battery is water. It took about an hour after I put the water in to work, but now it's been working perfectly for a month.

Nice!
It may be cheap but it works great. The instructions are inaacurate as to the time to get the clock to work though. It is about half an hour.

Great clock!
We use this for my sons room so he knows when he can come out of his room in the morning. It does say that it shouldn't be for kids under 14 but he knows not to touch it. You have to wait a few hours for it to start working so be aware of that.
