Betrayed!

Must Read for Believers!
This is a great book describing the life and mindset of a devout Jew on a journey to disprove and win his daughter back to Judiasm and discovered the truth of the Messiah along the way! This was incredibly eye opening for me. I have a love for the Jewish community and have supported them for many years. I am currently reading his second book, Abandoned, and hoping it continues to open my eyes to the needs of the Jewish nation and how I can help to spread the truth of the Messiah with them.

This book was such an enjoyable read.
This is a lovely book to share with any Jewish friends that you might want to share Christianity with or just to see inside the thought process of someone grappling with converting from Judaism to Christianity. It's beautifully and kindly written and let's see the heart of the author and his family.

Amazing!
It is such an amazing story told of a family of Jews being faced with the reality of the Messiah and how the Lord worked in their lives.

Wonderful Book
I love this book because it tells the true story of a family having to face the truth about the person of Yeshua and the willingness to see if what the Old and New Testaments say about Him is true. If Yeshua is the Christ ( Hamashiach) what does this mean to all humans? This book answers this question. I highly recommend it.

Messianic Controversy
I'm sure this was an important book for the author, God bless him! Still, Messianic Jews are like talmudic Jews in that they have no memory of the trouble they've caused to bring about their plight. It is always their host country's fault. No introspection. What about usury, or how Jews remain distinct from their host culture, but feel free to lead the criticism of said culture in print. They have written "Jesus Christ" as a curse into every movie they make...and have it coming out of the Gentile's mouth. Their ancient Talmud is pornographic and encourages hatred of the Goyim, THEIR HOST nation. Jesus HATED this form of racist Judaism (see the Good Samaritan story). Why would anyone wish to still be identified thusly? The author gets his history wrong. By swallowing the Zionist propaganda as a kid he thinks early Messianic Jews were some minority sect persecuted by both sides. Wait, I thought Sts Paul and Peter (Messianic Jews) started Gentile churches in Europe, then, in their writings advocated for financial charity to the Christians back in Palestine.Jesus visited synagogues. They are not post-temple. They are havens for any and all legal arguing under the sun, some that is sickening-as the Talmud shows. They were/are often anti-temple. And they became popular among the Jews back in Babylon--those unwilling or unbelieving enough to return with Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The Jews were a horrible mess by the time Christ appears. So bad that the place (Palestine) was crawling with demonic spirits summoned by wicked Jews wanting power, wealth, and glory in this present life. Sound familiar? And it was being run by a religious class that had found a way to permit themselves any immorality while forbidding it to others. "They that dwelt in darkness have seen a great light." Why did this escape the author as he read the New Testament? The author has a personal relationship with God! This is HUGE! But if he starts to organize by his Jewish heritage I expect he'll find organized Messianic Judaism just as prone to excess, scandal and inefficiency as any Christian sect he blames for persecuting Jews, including the one atheistic Jews so callously destroyed (Russian Orthodoxy) in the Bolshevik revolution by the millions during another one of their horrible "Messianic Era's."To put another way...if I became a believing Jew, I'd run and never look back.

Fascinating Testimony
Years ago, someone recommended that I read Betrayed. My husband’s family is Jewish, so this person assumed I would be interested in the author’s testimony. Well, they were right. After hearing the author, Stan Telchin, on a radio program, I was hooked. I could not wait to discover what drove this Jewish man to embrace Jesus as his Messiah. I was captivated as I read that when he learned his college age daughter had become a Christian, he was determined to disprove the New Testament. Through much prayer, study and passion for truth, Stan realized that he needed to turn his life over to Jesus in repentance and faith. His story is so engaging that it is hard to put down. He includes a great list of fulfilled Messianic prophecy in the back of the book. I have since learned that his youngest daughter, Ann, makes claims contrary to Telchin’s testimony. She says they are not the happy family portrayed in the book. Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-36 that houses would divide over him, so it certainly comes as no surprise that the Telchin family members are not all on the same page concerning the gospel.

Worth reading
Stan Telchin give a most a interesting view of how Jew regard Gentiles, his struggles coming to the right understanding of who is the Messiah is. Was most interesting, and his honesty with himself when confronted with the truth.I found the reaction of other Jews when they saw that he had found the Messiah was surprising. So much prejudice Against belief in him is surprising since Jesus and the founders of the Christian church were all Jewish. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles says there is a veil over their minds when they rea the scriptures, but when they turn to the Lord the veil will be taken away. I believe his hope for Israel as a people is good, but he does not appear to believe that the Christian Church made up of Jews and Gentiles is the Israel of God Gal 3 :29; Rom 9:7,8.but I might be wrong about him. Overall I really enjoyed the book, and others who have read it did too.

Interesting but could be more detailed
I read this book first many years ago and was pleased to be able to find it again in eBook format. It is an interesting read, but I would have liked a little more explanation of the author’s theology.

Stan Telchin provides a fascinating insite into the Jewish attitude ...
Stan Telchin provides a fascinating insite into the Jewish attitude toward Christians. He provides a deeper understanding of the split between Jewish believers and gentile Christians in the early church. Everyone who is interested in seeing a reconciliation between Jews and Christians should read this book.
