Diane Keaton, Sam Shepard, and Harold Ramis play outstanding characters in this movie Baby Boom. Diane Keaton, called J.C. Wyatt is a top executive working for Sloan Curtis Advertising. Her life was working well enough that she was climbing the corporate ladder to become a partner in the firm. However, one night she received a call implying she was going to receive an inheritance. That was all wonderful until she realizes that the inheritance was a baby from a relative, she hardly knew. They had died in a crash, and she was given the baby to raise. She was reluctant at first since she was due to be a part of a partnership within the company. A really big deal she had worked hard for. Unfortunately, she couldn't put the baby up for adoption because she had grown attached and the baby started to bond with her. As the babies needs began to take precedence, she became less reliable trying to juggle motherhood and executive life all at once. She felt betrayed by the company because an important account she was working on was handed off to a person she had hired to work as an assistant. She chose to leave the company and start over in a new place in Vermont. She ran into many obstacles since a big city like New York is different from a small town in Vermont. She purchased a house there and took baby Elizabeth with her to start over. However, this house was in need of much repair. She was running out of money, so she decided to become her own entrepreneur and started a food line called Country. Baby. I think this is a really entertaining movie and won't disappoint. Diane Keaton is a very talented actress. If you want to know how this movie ends you may want to watch it to find out. It won't disappoint.

This film Baby Boom features Diane Keaton in the character of J.C. Wiatt. J.C. Wiatt is a highly driven career woman whose life is unexpectedly shaken up when she receives a call about a long lost family member who died and chose to give J.C. Wiatt custody of their child Elizabeth Alice Wiatt (Kristina & Michelle Kennedy). This happens at a delicate time for J.C. Wiatt because she had recently found out from her boss Fritz Curtis (Sam Wanamaker) that she was promoted to a lucrative career position she was hoping for quite some time. At first J.C. Wiatt intends to give Elizabeth Wiatt up for adoption before she changes her mind after growing more attached to Elizabeth. J.C. Wiatt’s personal life is affected by this as well because her partner at the time Steven Buchner (Harold Ramis) admits to her that he is far from ready to be a parent. Meanwhile, J.C. Wiatt’s protégée Ken Arrenberg (James Spader) eventually gets the promotion that she was hoping to hold on to and she naturally feels forced to start over anew. J.C. Wiatt sets out to reinvent herself in Vermont and start over a new life with Elizabeth there. J.C. Wiatt encounters some unexpected curveballs after she moves into her new home in Vermont, fortunately the curveballs transform into more beneficial opportunities and circumstances when certain events transpired towards her meeting local veterinarian Jeff Cooper (Sam Shepard). J.C. Wiatt also spots an opportunity to improve her career and money prospects after a discovery she makes stemming from preparing a certain food item for Elizabeth Wiatt etc.

5 starts for the movie (The movie is exceptional), fantastic cast and music.However the video quality is horrible. You figured by now the studio will put a bit more $ behind the quality of it all but they did not...disappointed to say the least.Hope the Blu ray is better but I do not know if I want to take a chance on it..

コメディーなので話の筋は、英語が聞き取れなくてもなんとなく理解でき、好きな映画の一つでした。米国で購入したVHSのテープを持っていましたが、聞き取れないところが多かったので、これを購入。英語のsubtitleがついているので、聞き取れなかった部分(せりふ)が判明して、また辞書で調べることもでき、今までの「これはなぜ？」が判明して購入して良かったと思っています。

I remembered the movie when it was first released! I knew what I was getting and it was!! 👍🏻

ダイアン・キートン以外にこの役をここまで魅力的にこなせる女優はいない。彼女は現在アメリカの中でも唯一無二、年齢を経てますますチャーミングな女性である。知的でユーモアがあり、ちょっとした表情・ニュアンスに本人の人間性を感じる素晴らしい女優である。私は仕事で落ち込むとこの作品を取り出しては、幸せは自分で動き、勝ち取るものだとそのメッセージを再確認する。ＮＹで男勝りの仕事をこなすキャリアウーマンが、遠い親戚が亡くなった事で、２歳の女の子を相続してしまう。子供・家庭の入る余地もない彼女の仕事に少しづつ変化が生じ、結局会社をクビになってしまう。そこから彼女は思いきった人生の選択をする。「何かをあきらめなくてはならないそんな仕事はしたくない・・・」彼女の言葉は、働く女性の胸に響く。仕事も幸せも両方欲しい、なら掴み取ろう。

ずいぶん遅れてようやく届きましたが、デッキに入れたところ、｢このディスクは再生できません。｣と表示が。。。ゴミ箱直行！
