Stovax Colloidal Black Polish

Used about a third of a bottle for our wood burning stove. Easy to apply. Make a huge difference and looks like new with only 20 minutes of light work.

Great product, was sceptical at first as to how well the finished stove would look as it is a water like consistency.Was really easy to apply by brush and coverage was good.As soon as the stove reached 200 degrees centigrade it cured, with an even coating.Fire looks great, like new.Only used 1/3 of a bottle so will be able to recoat a few times.Would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to restore their cast iron stove.

This is so easy and economical to use. I really didn’t think that there would be enough in the bottle to treat our large wood burner but was pleasantly surprised how little I needed to use. So easy to apply with a brush and far, far better than the paste I’ve used in the past and no mess. Once dry the stove looked like new again! Would highly recommend.

This works a treat on my cast iron Morso stove. It's a very thin liquidwhich spreads over a large area using a small brush. No smell until the fire is lit, and then only a slight smell for an hour or so, and then it brings out a rich black matt finish.Even before lighting the fire, it dries in a few minutes, and the brush can be washed out under a tap.Highly recommended.

This stuff is fantastic. It may seem a little pricey compared with the paste that comes in a tube (or tin) but it does a brilliant job. Firstly, although there's a bit of a smell when the stove first warms up, it doesn't last long and doesn't result in a room full of smoke. Secondly, and I have this on good authority as with mine it's too early to tell, it lasts for ages. Early indications are good as, many fires later, there is absolutely no sign of it fading and it looks as good as when I first put it on. The alternatives would have begun to turn pale and dull by now and I would be thinking about having to do it again.Buy it.

The wood burner was looking tired after 16 months of use so I made it all better again ☺A light sanding here and there, dust it down and then applied Stovax Colloidal Black (£10.99 from Amazon). I wore a plastic glove and put a sock over that to apply it with 😁The whole process took about 30 minutes and it only took about 1/4 of the bottle to do the whole stove, I even gave it 3 coats! Its very easy to apply and dries very quickly. I just need to get it to 200C to set it but not right now as its far too warm so maybe late this evening when it cools down. It looks so much better.Would only let me choose 1 photo!Edit (20/9/18/: It doesn't stay black for long, it wipes off after setting it, I've had roaring fires going to set it but it just wipes off within a couple of weeks to reveal the tired woodburner underneath. Since April 2018 when I bought the product I've had to redo it 6 times, today was the 6th time and time I came back to my review to update it. I would never buy this product again, I'll stick with decent paint... Nothing made by Stovax either.

Used it on woodburner. Enough for two stoves. Dosent smoke the place out on intial lighting.

Product was a little runny but easy to use, just applied with a cloth it has brought my slightly tired wood burner look smart again. Really pleased and good value for money.
