The Al Bowlly Collection 1927-1941

There are recording flaws and the first disc was a little scratched, but the music is so wonderful and the collection so great that I still give it five stars.

This title has been reissued under the Music For Pleasure label and retitled :  Al Bowlly Centenary Celebratio . The selection is good, with only a few of the most common songs appearing. Additionally, the sound quality is like that of the Vocalion remasters. The only quibble I have is that the only information about each track is the year of release - no orchestra name provided, but as a budget CD it is an excellent bargain.1. I’m in heaven when I listen to Al Bowlly and the beautiful bands he’s featured with, i.e. Ray Noble & Lew Stone and their bands, mostly. Heard him from a child, but suddenly looked him up and found these gems on Amazon. So pleased.

Relaxing sound

Very economical to buy. I played it with my vacuum tube amplifier andit brings back the sound of the 1920's.
