The 5.56 GO gauge is used to measure the minimum recommended chamber headspace. If the bolt does not close on a GO gauge, it is considered unsafe headspace. This is a true Milspec size 5.56 GO gauge 1.4646" and is only for use in 5.56 chambers Headspaced to Colt Milspec is is .001" larger than a .223 Remington GO so it is not for any .223 Remington or .223 Wylde chambers.
