**Update**After leaving the below review, this company sent a replacement unit right away. They didn’t reply, just sent another thermometer. Great customer service is why I’m changing my rating to 4 stars. Still has some quirks, but appears to have a more reliable reading. Will update once I can compare this to another thermometer.I cannot get an accurate reading with this thermometer. After feeling my daughter noticeably warm, we used this to check her temperature. It was reading something ridiculously low and kept giving different readings of very low temperatures. Used an old school thermometer and it read she had a Fever. I love the concept of this as my daughter hates the other thermometer, but it does me No good if it’s not accurate. Tried reaching out to the company, and yet to get a response. We will see if they try to make this right and will update my review at that time

Since we just got home from the Nicu, we need to take our babies temperature a lot and the regular probe thermometers were bothering the babies. So I ordered this one and it does what it says. Works quickly and you don’t even have to touch the forehead, so I don’t have to wake up my babies to check on them! It also comes with a little bag to store it! Good product!

Two tips that may save you time: 1) It may look like both batteries go in the same way, but they don't. 2) At our house we got a much better reading holding it next to the temple, not the forehead (YMMV). Works instantly. Remember to add +/- a half-degree F. as these infrareds usually register lower-than-actual temperature. Given their good-but-less-than-pinpoint accuracy, I think the main job of infrareds is to indicate a genuine fever, which is whatever your doctor says it is, and since they remember what your last temp was, to tell you whether you're getting sicker or just malingering. (I'm kidding, I'm kidding.) For children or equally-squirmy adults, it's a helpful item to have.

This works really well - you can do it touching the skin or from an inch or so away - making it perfect to not have to wake the kiddos when wanting to get their temperature. I traditionally use a manual thermometer, which DOES give a wider range of temperature readings and is more accurate, but the convenience factor is great with this thermometer! I also didn't love that it makes a noise every time you do a reading (wakey wakey) but it's good in the sense that it helps you know when the reading is done. It seems to be pretty high quality for lasting use, and I really appreciate that it comes with batteries. Last, it's great that it has an off button, so that it will help your batteries last much longer than if it just had an auto-shutoff.Note, it's REALLY absurdly hard to open the compartment to put the batteries in. I required about 5 minutes, a knife, a fork and...ultimately another person to help me.It comes in a storage pouch that is about the size of a sunglasses bag/case, in case you were wondering about its size.

This infrared thermometer is great! Great value compared to all the others and works wonderfully! I like how the screen changes colors depending on temperature. I have used this for myself and mostly for my two children. Fast and easy readings! Light up (and colored) screen for night time readings. I compared photos of my old smartglow exergen temporal scanner. After replacing my exergen scanner for the third and final time since it is very fragile I was in need of a good cheaper alternative. And this one works just as good if not better! And for a third of the cost you cannot get a better deal and forehead thermometer! Highly recommend.

This thermometer consistently says that my baby, my husband, and I are all in the 97's. Any chance we got a broken thermometer? My baby was in the NICU so it's very important that I am able to take accurate temperatures.Update: The company sent me another thermometer. I am able to register in the 98's for my baby now. Praying it is accurate. Very grateful for the company for taking the time to send us a replacement thermometer.

I was hesitant to purchase this given the affordability. I had tried the instant ear thermometer before this one and came away disappointed. So, I am even more thrilled about this product being a win. It is easy to use and reads very quickly. No complaints here.
