Strange chemical taste
Bought these specifically to make mushy peas (can't get them where I am). To be honest after some experimentation they were easy to make but did require more boiling than other peas I've used. More importantly there was a strange chemical taste, I initially thought it might be the water I used so tried with bottled water. Same taste. If used in a strongly flavoured sauce it probably wouldn't be an issue.
