Dcoument Camera
These work great but require software installation on the computer prior to using. My impression is the software was already installed within the unit and plug into USB and use. This can be a problem if you do not have administrator rights to your work computer.

Good value; works well.
I liked the flexible arm and the ability to focus the camera on different portions of my desktop without moving the unit or it’s arm.The software was a little hard to learn. Better instructions would have helped. However, after an hour or two of trial and error learning, it wasn’t all that difficult to catch on to.

Will not install
This did not come with a manual and it will not install on my computer. It is basically a very expensive desk lamp because I have waited too long trying to find someone that can actually get it installed, to no prevail, and now I can't return it.

Great for Classroom
I use this in my classroom and have loved it so far. It is easy to use and the projected image from it is pretty clear.

Useful jack-of-all-trades kind of device.
Billed as a “document camera”, this is really little more than 5MB webcam mounted on a flexible arm. It does have a pair of LED’s to provide three levels of lighting. It’s way too slow and finicky to consider as a book scanner. As a document scanner, per se, it can be an effective substitute for a smartphone or camera mounted on a rigid desktop stand. It does stills and videos. The included OCR capability in its app is supposed to be from ABBY, one of the top companies in OCR. The app is a mishmash of elementary photo and video operations, which I haven’t completely figured out. The included “manual” does little more than provide identification for the bottoms and slots of the company’s several models. It is useless. The app is supplied on a mini-CD. I couldn’t find the company’s web address in the manual and had to use Google instead. I just kept it by my main computer today and was surprised by how often I used it for tasks that I might have used a cell phone or scanner for. I can definitely see it as useful for some, but not all. The manufacturer or distributor does itself a disservice by not hiring a more competent marketer to explain all that the device and app do. It's pitched to teachers in a competitive market, so they might know better how to use it.Jerry
