Helped Me Pass the CISSP Exam
I have 18+ years of IT experience and had worked in Info Sec for about a year when I passed the CISSP exam. While I can't give all the credit to passing the CISSP exam to these two books, they played a key part of my test preparation. Below was pretty much all I did to study.1. I watched all 15+ hours of Kelly Handerhan's CISSP course on Cybrary2. I took all of the exams and answered all of the questions in the official practice tests book3. After each practice exam, I used my incorrect answers to identify the top 2 to 4 topics I was particularly weak in. I then read up on those topics in the official study guide before moving on to the next practice exam.As much as I like security, there is no way I had the time or stamina to read the official study guide cover to cover. For me, I only referred to it to fill gaps in knowledge the practice exam results were pointing out. I signed up for the actual CISSP exam once I got over 80% correct on one of the general (all domain) practice exams.Altogether, I spent about 40 - 50 hours over the course of six weeks to get ready for the exam. I don't think I could have passed it with these books alone and likewise I don't think I could have passed with just Kelly's course alone. But together, I got the mile-wide picture with an inch-deep of practice to do it.Good luck to you!

Best CISSP prep book.
I recently passed the CISSP exam and my preparation wouldn't have been the same without this book. One of the consistent things people tell you about the CISSP is that you must think like a security professional to pass the exam. This book has real life scenarios and tips that help with that. The practice questions at the end of each chapter are very helpful too. The questions are designed to help you with the thought process you need in the real exam. I strongly recommend this book to anyone studying for the CISSP. It will make a difference in your preparation.

1,000 pages of content, a Gold Mine of practice questions
I used this book, the practice exam book, and the McGraw Hill CISSP Exam guide. The McGraw Hill book is better written, but your goal is to pass this exam and to consume a broad range of content. This study book is very good, and the practice exams are a gold mine. I recommend reading both books beginning to end, and then working through all of the practice exams. Take one practice exam, and then take the detailed exams for each area of expertise. Sure, you will miss a lot of questions, but as you review the answers, your knowledge will grow and you will get more experience with the types of questions you will see on the real exam. I passed the first time, but I was slow and methodical. I used 2 hours and 55 minutes from the 3 hour time that is allowed. Good Luck!

Great value for getting two books
Having taken the CISSP recently, I can say that the Sybex book contains a lot more information than what is actually covered on the exam. The Sybex book is really dry to read, but its a great reference to explain the harder concepts and includes tips and tricks within the book. As for the book containing the practice questions, it contains a ton of questions per domain as well as 4 practice exams. You can also register the book and do the practice questions online. The questions provided are more straightforward than on the exam and isn't exactly structured the same way, but it's a good reference to test your knowledge. The reason for the 4 stars is because the book contains too much information and things that aren't tested on the exam. The questions in the practice question book are also based on the Sybex book and doesn't mirror the structure of the CISSP exam. Overall, its a good value for the price and a great starting point for those taking the CISSP.

Well-tailored, very useful to study for the test
The study guide is fairly comprehensive and covers every aspect of the test. Both the study guide and the practice test book come with electronic tests and flashcards. Some questions are shared between both but they rarely overlap. The practice tests and question were as near identical to the test version I took as possible without being dumps, meaning it very accurately reflects the test material. I used these two books alone to pass the test on my first attempt easily with about 20 days of consistent studying for about 1-2 hours every day. Given the results I would recommend the study guide and practice test set and feel it is very easily worth the price and should likely be the only study material required.
