Brass decorative sand timer 5 minutes antique maritime fully hand made hour glass

I don't often leave reviews for products but I was impressed with this sand timer. It's a little bigger then expected but that's a good thing, I was worried it would be to small. The claim of five minutes is pretty close, I tested it and got somewhere between nine and twelve second faster but I might have been a little slow on the draw with the stop watch. I intend on using this for DnD and it should be a good size for all the player s to see. The nautical theme is pretty cool gives you the feel of owning a real antique. Hope the picture help give a sense of scale.

Good value for price, get lots of compliments. Looks decorative on my desk at work (even though I use it for time management). Not sure exactly how much time it is though

I bought this 5-min timer for making tea just right.

I think I have a large chunk of sand in mine. It halts halfway through a quarter of the time. I use it to make tea so it sometimes leads to overbrewing.

This is a great looking sand timer with good build quality and durability. Sadly, the average time for the sand to flow through the glass on a 5 min timer is 7:35. I'm not looking for atomic clock accuracy out of a sand timer ... but at over 50% error this has been relegated to a kitchen decoration.
