Cowgirls in Heaven

I liked a lot of this book, in fact most of it...but can we please have one picture book about women by a male photographer which does not involve some of the ladies getting naked? It's not that the photographs actually show anything extremely "private" but there is no question the women are naked. The book is about cowgirls, and the fact that they bathe is not distinct to cowgirls...so why was it included? Gosh, I wonder. Also wondered if naked cowboys would have been included in a book about cowboys....by the same author. Umm...dare say, no. Loved this photographer's horse photos and didn't realize until recently that we have two of his framed prints in our home (which are now not so meaningful). Bottom booty line....the book would have been excellent if the publisher/author would have realized that most of the stories and women portrayed are strong enough to stand on their own without selling sex along with it. To the guys involved: the real live women in this world and many men are more than a little tired of this very old exploitation story. Some nakedness is art (think, The Three Graces) some just isn't....This was written by an open minded cowgirl who appreciated the integrity of, and enjoyed reading the stories of most of the women portrayed in the book. A big "hats off" to those of you who kept your clothes on...in the true Cowgirl spirit.

I bought this to place under some boots I put on a book shelf. I needed to raise the boots and continue the cowgirl theme. It sort of worked, but the book is too thin to raise the boots as high as I needed them to be. I love the cover and the title and the price was right.

I saw the book at a gift store originally, and was able to read through it. Although the title raised my wife's eyebrows, and since she's not a horse person, I wasn't allowed to buy it.At that time I realized it was a book made for women.Later on, I bought it as a gift for a friend who I knew was an avid horsewoman.She loved it.

Stoecklin brings to warmth and classical style to Western Photography .While the specific photo for which I bought the book does not appear, I'm still delighted with the rest of the collection.Great stuff.

We love David Stoecklein phiotiographs, and we wikll eventually have all of his published photo books.

Very nice book with beautiful pictures and short stories about women riders. Buy with confidence. Excellent quality book. You will enjoy the pictures.

This is the second "Cowgirls" book I purchased.... love them! Beautiful pictures! I love that they are REAL working cowgirls and not super models on a horse! Great clothes, beautiful animals and fantastic views!

This book is stunning. The ladies profiled are just drop dead American beautiful. Cowgirls like this don't exist in New Jersey-or maybe I haven't found one yet. The outfits with the chaps are so pretty. The photography is spot on. Great detail and vision. These ladies are a fantasy for me. I can't say enough how wholesome and sexy these women are. I highly recommend it!
