This external drive serves my needs nicely
I am very happy with LaCie 1 big Dock. It serves my needs of keeping space free on my laptop by storing all my video and photo work externally. Easy set up and functionality. I highly recommend it.

Stopped functioning after a few weeks use
At first, this seemed like the right backup solution for me. But soon after starting with it, it stopped working with the 6 foot cable I'd bought for it, and after a couple more weeks it wouldn't work even with the supplied cable. The disk stopped rotating when connected to power. I didn't especially want to return it, since it has my backed up data on it, so it looks like a write-off. Really disappointed.

Our studio needed more digital storage!
This unit is working out just great. We could’ve bought a larger capacity drive, but I figure by the time this wears out I’ll need a bigger drive anyhow! Very easy to use. Very easy to set up. I love it! I have an audio recording studio and we use this drive with our ProTools sessions. Never a problem!
